season

[edit]

The first 8 episodes are aired in a different year and with quite a pause before episode 9-16 will be aired. I'm guessing the only reason we're calling it the same season is because the cable company does so? PizzaMan (♨♨) 13:03, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it's all season 5 because that's what it is, a 16 episode season with a hiatus in the middle, it's not uncommon. That's how most TV (with the exception of cable shows that usually run straight through due to shorter seasons). It's just how the network decides to schedule it. Walking Dead's hiatus is nothing, Mad Men has an entire year hiatus, and it's still the same "season". I'm assuming your unfamiliar with American TV? Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:25, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, i'm not American so by the time a season of something reaches my country they always broadcast a whole season. The hiatus thing half way a season, i don't think that ever occured, at least it's very rare over here. That's why i asked. Thank you for answering. Supporting characters

[edit]

Information stating actor Chris Coy as "Martin" for added to the list of supporting characters. It was removed once with this edit per WP:PROVEIT, but was re-added with this link provided as a source in the edit sum. I've watched the video link and cannot see anything that supports the statement that Chris Coy played "Martin" for four episodes: Moreover, "WP:PROVEIT" says "Attribute all quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged to a reliable, published source using an inline citation.", not simply by providing a link in the edit sum. I believe that Chris Coy did play "Martin", but I don't think that information about him being a recurring character should be added until something that satisfies WP:RS can be cited in support. The following AMC pages for epsiodes 1-3 only list him as being a "guest star" in the credits: Episode 1: No Sanctuary, Episode 2: Strangers, and Episode 3: Four Walls and a Roof. I'm not sure if being listed as a guest star in three episodes on an AMC official page satisfies WP:PSTS, but if it does than that's still only 3 episodes and not 4. So, I have removed the information once again per WP:PROVEIT for now, until such a time when a proper reliable source can be found. In addition, I removed other information from supporting characters which also was not supported by a reliable source. Again this stuff can be re-added as soon as such sources are found.- Marchjuly (talk) 00:53, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think this site might be OK for Tyler James Williams as "Noah" since it refers to Williams' character as a "recurring guest star": The Walking Dead's Tyler James Williams Cast in Criminal Minds Spinoff. -Marchjuly (talk) 00:57, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The removal of the other supporting cast was unwarranted. The problem was just with The Governor and Chris Coy being listed with 4 episodes, as the current aired episodes do not support that. Not all cast lists have to be sourced (look at the previous season articles for TWD), because the episodes have aired, which support the listing of actors who have appeared in multiple episodes as a recurring character. But yes, anything regarding future episodes, needs to be sourced no matter what. Drovethrughosts (talk) 01:03, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
My bad then. I was just erring on the side of caution. Please re-add the information if you think sourcing is unneeded. I did, however, find these site which might be possible sources for Erik Jensen ("Erik Jensen Talks The Walking Dead, the Conflicted Dr. Edwards, Geeking Out, and Guinea Pigs"), Maximiliano Hernández ("'Walking Dead' Season 5 Spoilers: Who Died In The Midseason Finale? Morgan's Return In Episode 8") and Lennie James ("'Walking Dead' Season 5 Spoilers: Who Died In The Midseason Finale? Morgan's Return In Episode 8"). If they can be used in some way, then please do. - Marchjuly (talk) 01:17, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ross Marquand and Tyler James Williams should be under also starring. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.197.108.114 (talk) 16:48, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal for revised lead

[edit]

The following paragraph is featured in the lead of the article.

"The season continues the story of former sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes and his group, who finally reunite and escape from the cannibalistic society known as Terminus. Once they are free and eliminate the threat, they find refuge in the church of Father Gabriel Stokes. While half of the group leaves for Washington D.C., so that Eugene Porter can supposedly find a cure for the disease, the other half stays at the church and tries to find and rescue Beth Greene, who was kidnapped in the previous season. After Eugene is revealed to have lied and Beth is killed both groups reunite and set out to reach Washington, as Eugene was still convinced Washington would be safe. In addition to Father Stokes, this season also introduces a group based on the notable comic villains known as The Hunters as well as comic character Aaron."

This paragraph is way too long in summarizing the story, and it's better to give a broad overview of the season from the beginning. I'm proposing this as the lead:

"The season follows the group of survivors led by former sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes, as they face several threats from both humans and walkers in their search for finding a new place to reside. The group is also motivated by Dr. Eugene Porter's proposal to head to Washington, D.C. for a possible cure for the walker virus. The season introduces notable characters from the graphic novels, including Father Gabriel Stokes, Aaron, and the cannibalistic Hunters."

I'm not the best writer and it could be improved further, but it's not a good idea to blatantly tell the whole season in the lead. Jal11497 (talk) 13:21, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Be bold and make the changes. I understand WP:SPOILER, but also find it unnecessary to blatantly spoiler character deaths right in the lead. Drovethrughosts (talk) 15:28, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Went for it. Thanks Jal11497 (talk) 07:16, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
