Translation

[edit]

A "translation" of "The Unknown Soldier" into English was published in 1957, but English-language readers should not rely on it for an accurate idea of the book's contents (or style, as I found already in a beginning Finnish language class). Is there a better word for "uncensorized", because the book wasnt censored by the government, but simply edited to avoid excess critique?--85.49.224.162 22:59, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't that effectively censorship? —Quirk 16:40, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe wording should be uncopy-edited or similar. I think that this cencoring thing was only a marketing trick for "Sotaromaani". --Ekeb 07:04, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Split suggestion

[edit]

I suggest a separate article for the novel and one for each of the film versions. Her Pegship 05:33, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done. The film articles are here and here. –Mysid 09:34, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV?

[edit]

This article showers the book with praise through and through. I don't know enough about the book to be able to fix the article but someone who is familiar should. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.223.123 (talk) 17:14, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plot section?

[edit]

Anyone? I might do one for the 1955 film but I really have to sit down with it again before I do. --TheHande (talk) 18:21, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
