How to add a section on the misreporting of Spencer being in the flash-forward

[edit]

While researching this article, I found something curious -- but I can't presently include it, because it would be original research. When John Spencer died in the middle of season 7, a stunning number of reliable sources wrongly claimed that the writers would have to deal with the fact that Leo had appeared in the "three years later" flash-forward scene; it would appear many were relying on an incorrect item in the Hollywood Reporter trade paper. I've already cited a reliable source that has the correct info (unfortunately, TWOP wouldn't have counted, even though they're one of the best places for the blow-by-blow recap of the episode as it first aired), but I have yet to find any sources that comment on the widespread error, nor even any papers retracting the mistake afterward. Odd. If someone else finds a reliable secondary or tertiary source that comments on this problem, that'd be a helpful and interesting addition. Lawikitejana (talk) 01:15, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's actually not misreporting. I distinctly remember Spencer (as Leo) being in that scene, as well as the reporting on the continuity problems caused by Spencer's death. I think (although I'm not sure) that it was Leo who said, "the President is here." I wonder if they reshot part of that scene later, for syndication and the eventual DVD set, with Josh saying that line instead of Leo. Mad Thinker (talk) 21:30, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article states: "the man seen leaving the limousine appears to be tall and have a dark complexion, presumably Matt Santos, as Vinick is significantly shorter than Santos and light skinned." In several earlier and later articles here on Wikipedia and cited sources, Vinick was originally intended to win but after John Spencer died the writers changed things. The discrepancy needs to be resolved. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.183.63.241 (talk) 20:03, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
