Don't Merge

Bob Wills was his own character. He had a solo career and made many other notable cultural contributions. Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys should remain separate.

The Texas Playboys continue to perform, led by Leon Rausch and Tommy Allsup, and joined by musicians like Curly Lewis, Bobby Koefer, and Bob Boatright, who played for Bob Wills and/or one of his brothers' bands. A Texas Playboys article should trace the post-Bob Wills history of the various reunion bands (another is called Playboys II, featuring Herb Remington) and the later careers of the more prominent Wills sidemen.

An article about the Texas Playboys could focus more on the notable musicians who played in the band during Wills' lifetime, the evolution of the band's style, their recordings, and the "farm system" that moved musicians around between the Texas Playboys and bands fronted by Johnnie Lee, Billy Jack, and Luke Wills. The Bob Wills article could focus more on his biographical details.

Seperate Entries are clearly Needed

Wills is clearly uniqe from the Playboys. Would there be no entry for Jesus Christ because his biography was listed under Christianity?--AMWausau 02:25, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Both are needed.

Both sections are needed concerning the history of these musicians.

Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys worked an impressive career together. Their history and contributions as a whole are significant during this time.

Betty Wills gave her consent and enthusiasm to the Texas Playboys to reform and continue the original line up, as far as could be accomplished.
