"Too long"?

[edit]

I don't understand the tag on this one. I think some people are being a touch snobby about articles wanting them to be short and snappy. I've been reading the Doctor Who episodes from the beginning recently and I prefer these more detailed articles to the short ones, especially for episodes I can't remember or haven't seen.

This feeds forward to the modern ones too. There were many lovely moments in Utopia but they haven't been inserted into the guide as people want it to be "snappy"AlanD 21:28, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry don't mean to sound rude but has there been a discussion on this or is it just one or two people's own perception?AlanD 21:28, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Last UNIT appearance?

[edit]

UNIT and the Brigadier both have relatively decent roles in The Five Doctors. Kuralyov 15:56, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

Having had a go at improving the picture, it seems that the result was worse than what was there. I've put a couple of test examples to see what other people think. Are the two below examples any better, or should the pictures just be left?--Tuzapicabit (talk) 09:31, 14 February 2009 (UTC)thumb|300px|left|Current picture.thumb|300px|left|Clearer version? thumb|300px|left|Lightened version[reply]

The middle one defenitely looks the best (I would add a low ammount of sharpening). I have linked the pictures, because non-free images are not allowed outside article space. EdokterTalk 12:42, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, done --Tuzapicabit (talk) 14:16, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
One question: Are you certain of the identity of the subject? Sure looks like Tom Baker to me. I freely admit that there's a lot of make-up to try to look through there, but surely you'll acknowledge the resemblance even if there's no question that it's actually John Gleeson/Winlett. I'm just asking, as I haven't seen this story in many years, and don't remember if there was some scene in which Baker played an incomplete plant-duplicate of the Doctor or something (as in the infobox image accompanying the article for his serial Meglos). --Ted Watson (talk) 21:18, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Tom Baker never turned into a plant in this one. DonQuixote (talk) 12:49, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, and thanks. As I said, I haven't seen this particular Who serial in a very long time and was by no means confident, but I just couldn't ignore the resemblance. Thanks, again. --Ted Watson (talk) 18:18, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
