Propose merging The Catering Village into The Rodings

The Catering Village seems to bo about White Roding. Remove the image and the paragraph about the non-notable business (Buzz Catering Supplies LTD) and it would expand this article. Richard-of-Earth (talk) 07:42, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Well, before I could add the merge tab, somebody taged it for speedy deletion because it does nothing but promote some entity. Here's the paragraph and refs I thought might be useful:

The Catering Village is the name given to White Roding, a small country village outside Dunmow in Essex UK. In the modern era the village has found itself becoming home to many catering establishments, so much so that it is now deemed the "one-stop-shop" for everything catering in the east of England. Bearing in mind that this village is actually quite small in size, the fact that it houses a major distributors of Catering Equipment Buzz Catering Supplies, a large Independent Turkey Farm, Granite Manufacturing Services producing grantie worktops for kitchens and commercial kitchens and also a Farmers market shop Bretts Farm Shop selling homegrown, authentic, organic, good for you foods. Not Only this but White roding also finds itself home to many pubs and restaurants (considering its size) making it have a little part of everything that the catering and hospitality industry in the united kingdom consists of.

I would be happy to merge this info into the article if there was a source, but I couldn't find one. Do people really call this town "The Catering Village", or is this just the name of a business complex looking for some publicity? I have searched extensively and can find no evidence that "The Catering Village" is a "name given to White Roding". It seems to be rather a name used by a group of catering companies situated there for promotional purposes, referring not to White Roding but only to that grouping. The Wikipedia article was created by an editor whose only contributions to Wikipedia have concerned one company, including introducing spam links to that company's web site to another article. What is more, the image seems to confirm this, as the sign "The Catering Village" is clearly attached to a business building, and looks as though it is a label for that, rather than for the village in which the building is situated. I agree to my dissapointment. My searches thru google using 'the catering village' CM6 1RT (the postal code for the area) yeilds addresses in directories that mention it. It seems to be a business park. However if someone can find a reference in a local newspaper about said business park, that could be included in the article. I can't find one, perhaps someone who lives in the area can find one. Given the little content of this article, I thought it worth looking at.
