Hikiko VS Sadako

[edit]

Regarding this film, the Sadako in the film is named Sadako Takamura (高村貞子). Due to the resemblance, the movie has been moved to a new "Unofficial films" section. KyoufuNoDaiou (talk) 15:30, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ring 0: Birthday place in continuity timeline

[edit]

As I wrote in the edit I made, plot details place the prequel film Ring 0 in the Nakata canon/timeline/continuity and not in the Rasen one. In the movie version of Rasen (as in all the novels as well) the well Sadako is left to die in is in/near a sanitarium where her father is being treated, but in Ring 2 and Ring 0 the well is on Sadako’s father’s own property - the area in both continuities eventually being turned into the resort cabin area seen in the original 1998 Ring film. Truly trivial I know, but still pertinent to the article BlackAdvisor (talk) 04:27, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

also, could someone aid me in deleting the Ring 0 portion from the cast and crew from the Rasen timeline, please and thank you! I don’t know enough about wikipedia coding to get it right unfortunately BlackAdvisor (talk) 01:08, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Writing Credits for Manga

[edit]

I own 3 of the Dark Horse manga, and at one time I owned all 5. The adaptations based on the Nakata-verse films (Ring, R. 2, R. 0) read (paraphrasing) ‘Based on the novel by Koji Suzuki and the film written by Hiroshi Takahashi’ - I’m hazarding a guess that they didn’t write the manga themselves although I’d need to do more research admittedly. Spiral and Birthday do not credit Takahashi - Birthday is an adaptation of the book of the same name, and there is another manga volume based on the prequel film Ring 0. The Spiral/Rasen manga is much more faithful to the book than the Rasen film written and directed by Joji “George” Iida, only featuring a few minor details from Iida’s film (such as Dr. Ando being suicidal) that were not in Suzuki’s novel. Merge Japanese Ring movie “timelines” cast?

[edit]

I’m not knowledgeable enough to do it myself… would anyone else do it please? BlackAdvisor (talk) 02:52, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rendering

[edit]

I was doing some edits and saw that some of the code does not match what’s shown on the page itself… which also has led to some difficulty for me editing the site…? BlackAdvisor (talk) 17:44, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

never mind that second part now BlackAdvisor (talk) 18:12, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unofficial films

[edit]

The films in the unofficial films section are there because Kadokawa had no part in their creation. Kadokawa's websites, including pages like YouTube, make no mention of them. KyoufuNoDaiou (talk) 00:51, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding on the above, in addition to Kadokawa not having any mention of the movies, the official Sadako Twitter and TikTok pages no not mention them either. If you have a reliable source that says these are officially licensed films, please provide it. The Japanese Wikipedia makes no mention of them.KyoufuNoDaiou (talk) 00:57, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
