Individual pages

[edit]

Do you think that 1234 and My Moon My Man should split off into their own pages? They're popular enough, and 1234 has charted on the Billboard Hot 100, so I think it's only fair. 76.31.11.113 14:21, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Upper Class Prostitute?

[edit]

The WP article about the song says "It was first recorded by folklore researcher Herbert Halpert on May 13, 1939.[2] Halpert was compiling a series of field recordings for the Library of Congress in Byhalia, MS, when he ran across Walter Shipp, a minister, and his wife Mary, a choir director of a local church. Halpert recorded Shipp's daughters, Katherine and Christine, singing a sparse version of "Sea Lion Woman" that defined the basic rhymes and rhythm of the song. Two weeks later the song was covered by musicologist and folklorist John Lomax." I don't know whether it refers to an upper-class prostitute or not, but I think the suggestion needs backing up Cooke (talk) 12:02, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The lyrics of "See Line Woman", available here, confirm the prostitute assertion. I added a reference to them and removed the Template:confusing (talk · links · edit) template. --Mareklug talk 05:50, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Sealion" vs. "Sea Lion Woman"

[edit]

Track 6 on the album is titled "Sealion." Even though it's based on Nina Simone's "Sea Lion Woman," it is not a straight cover, and apparently Feist has changed the name for her version. Seems like the same situation as her version of "Inside and Out" from Let It Die, where the original Bee Gees version was named "Love You Inside Out." Fubaz 17:52, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Thereminder.jpg

[edit]

Image:Thereminder.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Someone needs to make a page for 1 2 3 4 I am interested in knowing about it and want to know the Australian release date for the single. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.220.52.88 (talk) 04:43, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The song is definately Sealion

[edit]

I have feist's album and the song is listed as "Sealion", not "Sea Lion Woman". Or you could look on iTunes. But, i own the physical album and the song is called "Sealion" FOR SURE! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.127.193.43 (talk) 21:47, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bonus Tracks

[edit]

There is at least one version of the CD where the bonus track #14 is the Boys Noize remix of "My Moon My Man". I don't know the label or country. Maybe someone who has this version can add the details ? 84.198.246.199 (talk) 22:20, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
