Centralized TV Episode Discussion

[edit]

Over the past months, TV episodes have been redirected by (to name a couple) TTN, Eusebeus and others. No centralized discussion has taken place, so I'm asking everyone who has been involved in this issue to voice their opinions here in this centralized spot, be they pro or anti. Discussion is here [1]. Even if you have not, other opinions are needed because this issue is affecting all TV episodes in Wikipedia. --Maniwar (talk) 02:40, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reception

[edit]

A nice round-up of critical reaction to the first episode has been compiled by The Guardian here. Brad (talk) 22:00, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'm going to try and improve the reception section this evening or tomorrow. --UpDown (talk) 08:01, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Conti "reportedly" furious because ITV rejected his Buck House series idea then commissioned this.[2] Might be worth watching this for something better than "a source told the Telegraph". It might also be interesting to look out for any comments by Mike Bullen, as around 7 years ago he partially developed a "British West Wing" based in Buckingham Palace. ITV or ITV1

[edit]

There is an argument going on between myself, and another member of Wikipedia. I say this programme and many others airs on a channel called ITV - he/she says it's ITV1. The fact is, there is no such channel called ITV1. ITV1 is a brand name, used for ITV in England, Wales, Southern Scotland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. The brand name for the channel is Central and the North of Scotland is STV, and in Northern Ireland, it's UTV. All of these brands together, ITV1, STV and UTV are part of the ITV Network, which is usually just refered to as ITV. Using the ITV1 brand in these articles is selfish to those in most of Scotland and Northern Ireland, who don't see or hear the ITV1 name. What are your thoughts on this matter?

I think a wider discussion is now being held at the talk of Talk:Agatha Christie's Poirot, so better to centralise there I think.--UpDown (talk) 13:58, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
