The Title
[edit]Does anyone know why they were called "The Original Kings of Comedy"? D.L. Hughley looks like he was born some time in the 1960's. And I would venture to guess that Steve Harvey is the oldest and looks to be in his early to mid 50's. There were numerous comedy titans before these gentlemen. I'm not saying they are not funny. I'm just saying why are they called "The Original Kings of Comedy"? Swatson1978 02:25, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Isn't Kings of Comedy and The Original Kings of Comedy two different things!??! I thought one was a Reality TV show.
- You forget, it's a Spike Lee film. They clearly MUST be the Original Kings. Rockhound 02:31, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Well there is a film called the King of Comedy and a an actual comedian who was called the King of Comedy who was big in the 30s. It's just that these guys were all white and there's no way they could ever be as good as these four guys I'd never heard of until this movie and have since gone on to be kind of well known. So these guys come later and since they believe they are better so they must be the Original Kings. ... You know, like the New Originals but not satirical. 99.240.141.220 (talk) 23:31, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
- Another insulting creation from a very good director/social commentator. i'm sure he knows his entertainment history.. but calling THESE young men The ORIGINAL Kings..? yes there was a King of Comedy, during the Golden Age of TV (not the 30's) the 1950's. See also My Favorite Year. thx 2600:1700:A760:C10:419C:F325:E7C4:74FE (talk) 04:34, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
Disco Song
[edit]In Cedric's performance, he does a disco-style breakdance as a sign of fighting between two rival gangs. What was the song called? Rockhound 02:31, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
