Unneeded breaks

[edit]

There is no reason to keep adding sections and paragraph breaks. It makes the article harder to read and it's just not needed to break it up so much, it doesn't add anything. Green Cardamom (talk) 17:25, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Date of novel publication

[edit]
  • The British Library has an entry for the novel dated 1865 published by London: Saunders, Otley, and Co.
  • The New York Times Book Review piece by English professor Paul Collins says the novel was published in 1863 by Bradbury & Evans.
  • The reprinted edition, published in 2012 by the British Library, says the novel was first published in 1863 by Bradbury & Evans.

It looks like the British Library catalog just has a newer edition by a different publisher, copyright back then was loose. The scholars who have looked at this seem to have arrived at the 1863 Bradbury & Evans as the first edition. -- GreenC 00:27, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just gained access to the Collins article through Wayback Machine and it says the book was first published in 1865 by Saunders, Otley & Company. I guess this seems to tip the balance back to 1865 as first edition. -- GreenC 00:46, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
