"Counterweight to Al Jazeera"
[edit]The article needs a working link to explain why another anti-Western, anti-Israel Qatari news outlet was needed, including "the perceived bias". It is strange to write the founders claim as fact, rather than a claim (e.g. it could just be another tool to spread Qatari influence).
A later paragraph implied the news outlet was anti-Muslim Brotherhood, but this was not the case in 2015 (it famously emphasised Syrian Muslim Brotherhood support for the Syrian National Coalition) and is clearly not the case today (plenty of implied and outright examples of support: Banning the Muslim Brotherhood aims to criminalise Muslim dissent).
There are no secrets as to Azmi Bishara's political persuasion and he is now a Qatari citizen.
A puff piece. 101.115.0.250 (talk) 11:36, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
Is this considered a reliable source regarding its reporting on Syria?
[edit]I've seen a discussion regarding this subject in Talk:2025 massacres of Syrian Alawites § Is the New Arab a reliable source? and was wondering if any editors or watchers of this article had input to offer on the question. Thanks. 1101 (talk) 02:38, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
