Several Articles + edits

I believe that 2 articles, movie and TV show, are necessary. As far as I know, they haven't publically released any albums, so they are basically a TV band. As far as edits go, thanks to Captain Infinity for fixing Allie DiMeco's age (22 what?), though her name was still displayed as "DiMico" before my edit. Still, this page needs a lot more fuckin work. Permission to unprotect

This artice needs some serious work, it also needs expanding. If someone can ask for permission to unprotect this, that would be great. I am not a user, just a frequent visitor. Since the movie had its advance screening already, there could also be a summary about the movie. Also, if there are going to be sections for the movie and tv series, they should be seperate artices merged together. Not meaning to do this now, since we will probably have to wait until some episodes come out. And as a user said earlier, we can't really call them a band since they have no CD's out now. Please do this so we can fix it in whatever ways possible. 70.170.93.169 06:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

LOOK buddy we know you have.... problems.. but their is no need to feel sorry for a band who weres head bands and dateing at an early age if you dont see whats so wrong about

The reason the ages are wrong is because they are taken from the movie which was created 2 years ago, but is premiering right now in 2007.

Kind of Movie

In my opinion, this is more of a fictional autobiography. Mainly because Rosalina isn't an actual person, its played by another girl. and because the dad isn't really a failed acrodion musician, he has a band (look him up). i don't really see why this is a drama, i don't see the drama in it. 70.170.93.169 01:02, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Stuped fake drama. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.163.32.133 (talk) 22:07, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

TV Series? Movie? Taken Care Of

Okay. The movie is obviously an article on its own. However, recent popularity from the announcement of the TV series has led to a huge mess with whether or not this is a "Film" article or a "TV Series" article.

I've just added "(TV Series)" to the title of this article and created another article that says "(Film)" instead.

These articles are currently very similar, so please help towards adding to each of these articles.

Thanks.FIRST801 00:33, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Rosalina

So, Rosalina is not really the actress that plays Rosalina's real name, so, Should we put the actresses real name on? 130.13.102.173 00:02, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Allie's full name is Alyson Rosalina DiMeco. So technically they are using her real name. Robert25 05:32, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Her real name is Alexandra Jean DiMeco. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.172.232.71 (talk) 04:51, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

AGREE Alexandra Jean DiMeco --Tokuma (talk)

It's actually Alexandra Jean Theresa DiMeco. I found that out later.

Where's the Edit button?

I don't mean to be a grammar freak, but the TV Series page is really poorly done. There also is a lot of important stuff left out of each episode summary. 70.252.99.198 23:31, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

The reason the edit button is missing and a view source button is there instead is that the page is protected. From Zach111493 my talkmy contributions 01:42, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

characters

Although Nat and Alex already link to something, i think that special pages should be made for each character and that the pages about Nat and Alex should not link to the real them but should explain them on the actual show. And anyways, were is the part of them being the worst band in history? From Zach111493 my talkmy contributions 01:37, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

The Page

We need to add more stuff it is empty and all the important stuff about the characters are missing the page should say when each show was first shown in the uk

Everyone in the band is an actual musician. The sound recordings are done in a recording studio. They pretend to play the instruments for the music videos (like most bands). The LuckyRed 19:22, 6 June 2007 (UTC)The_LuckyRed 06.06.07

show dates

it needs to say when each show aired for the first time in the uk

'sonny' wolff

On episode 1-08 "A Man needs a Maid" it is revealed that Michael Wolff's character on the show is named Sonny. Should this be added to the article?

I thought that was just a nickname....but I could be wrong. Not sure... Chick No.16 20:56, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Episode list

Information does not need to be duplicated on multiple articles on Wikipedia. If somone wants to print it out, they can do so seperatly. Wikipedia is not designed for just that purpose. One of the main pluses of having an digital encyclopedia is so that we make it much cleaner then a typical encyclopedia, with the use of redirects, and other related things. --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 17:27, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

List of episodes

82.30.91.179 17:46, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Just to say, for the list of episodes it needs a resort, the "Alien Clones" episode has aired and is not one of the last it is one of the first.

Reception?

Should we add a reception article to this page?It seems that would fit since it has gotten plenty of reviews. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.103.108.250 (talk) 01:09, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

There should definatly be a reception article. It should probably split into positive and negative sections. Or maybe we should just add a criticism section. I dont know. 76.235.235.106 (talk) 20:44, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Walk Out

Will the screen writers guild strike affect the naked brothers band? RC-0722 19:17, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Considering that at least the majority of the show is scripted (it is a mockumentary after all) I would say yes. But most shows have taped most of their shows ahead of time and most shows have also stockpiled scripts, it would probably be into the new year before we notice anything. Thanks! Josborne2382 19:40, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
NNO.My uncle works on sets and they shot everything insanely early to make sure that didn't interfere. 72.67.191.254 (talk) 02:48, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

This article was up for deletion a while ago the talk page was withdrawn. I think we should use the info from that article and put it on this article underneath Episodes and then delete List of The Naked Brothers Band episodes. --AnnieTigerChucky (talk) 03:44, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

On most articles I've seen, it's usually better to keep that level of detail separate; the actual article about the series should discuss more important matters than a list of episodes. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:01, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

I agree it should have more info on the show but an episode list should be good as well to expand this article. Most of the approved Wikipedia articles has a lot of information. --AnnieTigerChucky (talk) 04:09, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Did you find an example of a featured article (at WP:FA#Media) that has a long episode list in the body of the article? I'm pretty sure they all fork to a separate article. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:14, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

You are right a saw an article that had a separate article for the list of episodes for a series. --AnnieTigerChucky (talk) 04:22, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

That's the norm because lists are discouraged in articles, since they are sometimes unencyclopedic collections of WP:TRIVIA or raise issues of WP:NOT. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:32, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

ATC, The Office (US TV series) might be a good sample for you; it doesn't just list episodes, it summarizes each season. (I just cleaned it up, and left a list of work needed on the talk page.) SandyGeorgia (Talk) 05:12, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Final Season

According to an E-mail I got from someone claiming to be Alex on MySpace, there won't be a 4th season. I think it may be because he & Nat want to sing more. I think that's why Reba's show ended.

Comment

User:JLKTENNIS93, User:Wikialexdx, and all other users reading this who want to join in, I am doing major construction on the article and wanted anyone else who wanted to, to help. The references that have errors, I copied from The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie feel free to get the citenews and/or citesweb from the film article, which will help me save time, as well. Thanx! ATC . Talk 00:18, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of The Naked Brothers Band (TV series)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "imdb":

  • From The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie: "IMDb: Hamptons International Film Festival: 2005". Internet Movie Database. October 23, 2005. Retrieved 2009-04-18.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 01:24, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the wonderfully helpful Robot, User:Anomie. I'll take care of it from here. ATC . Talk 02:06, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Copy editing suggestions

For a good cohesive style the following changes should be made to the article (some of which require some decisions):

  1. use of verb tenses should be consistent. The editors should decide whether they want to use all present tense or all past tense.(this requires a decision, but past tense is best)
  2. use of numbers. The editors should keep the use of numbers consistent; i.e. always write 2nd season or always write second season (this requires a decision)
  3. avoid cliches as per MOS. Phrases such as "object of affection" and "pulls pranks" are cliches and should be removed.
  4. In the "Main Cast" section the wording in many of the first sentences is grammatically incorrect. I can reword and if you like the result replace everywhere.
  5. there's too much repetition of information. As encyclopedic fact that the boys' mother, Polly Draper, is the writer, director, etc., needs to be mentioned once, perhaps at the most twice. Weed out all repetitions.
  6. In the "Filming" section, the paraphrased sentence from the NYT article is awkward. This section needs either a., to be rewritten entirely, or b., to be placed in a text box as a long quotation (requires a decision).
  7. the article is overly wikified. If you don't mind, I'll weed out all the places that have excessive wikilinks.

Although it seems like a lot, the comments above will improve the article. Think about it and let me know how you want to address the issues that require decisions. Thanks. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 19:20, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Copyvio problem

The channel, WGN-TV, has created plagiarism to the main introduction page of this article.
The interview is here: [2], copied word-for-word "hit [']rock-mockumentary on Nickelodeon." "[The comedy] is about a teenage rock band... The [show] stars real life Nat and Alex Wolff, real life brothers who portray themselves."
And the description info below the video says the same thing.
I am waiting for a response in a few weeks, or month, or so... from User:Truthkeeper88, she/he is not currently using Wiki for personal, real life world, reasons at the moment.
ATC . Talk 22:50, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

I don't think this article's talk page is the place for that. Is there a noticeboard to handle the reporting that WGN posted the text without attribution? I checked the article's history, and the text in question was in the article on 11 August, before WGN posted the story. —C.Fred (talk) 23:03, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Hrm. I didn't see anything at WP:Copyright violations, though there is the {{backwardscopyvio}} template. —C.Fred (talk) 23:09, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Do you think I should add the template C.Fed, from the {{Template:backwardscopyvio}}? ATC . Talk 01:20, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Though, I don't think the interviewer meant to create plagiarism, because she probably doesn't know about Wikipedia standards and probably thought it was like an unreliable blog site, with some valid information and didn't tell WGN-TV where she got her information from, so I wouldn't make a problem unless the company tries to sew Wikimedia or something like that; apart from putting the template up on the talk page. ATC . Talk 01:30, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
I agree with your comment above which I suspect is exactly what happened. I did look over that section today to see whether it can be rewritten slightly, which at least would have this article differ from the WGN information, but won't stop the same from occurring in the future. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 01:34, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, forgot to answer the question. So that this article is not flagged for copyvio, it's best the keep the text as is and place the template at the relevant point. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 01:40, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Oh, my bad. I added it; I think its necessary to it up as soon as possible, so their is no risk of WikiMedia being framed of copyright infringement. Could I leave it up since its up anyway at this point? ATC . Talk 01:49, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
I think we're misunderstanding eachother. I agree the template should be added and stay up. Sorry, I'm working on two articles at once, my bad too! Truthkeeper88 (talk) 01:51, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
No problem. Thanx for your help! ATC . Talk 01:53, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Returning in 2010

In a recent interview, Nat said there will be a 4th season of the show. They will start filming new episodes next year. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.163.54.161 (talk) 09:04, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

I heard about that, but their is two problems; 1) Their needs to be a reference from a Reliable Source, e.g. news articles; 2) The interview was misinterpreted because Nat never said those exact words; he said that they were not filming this summer because of the tour, as oppose to having a fourth season. ATC . Talk 01:18, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

According to a recent interview on Just Jared Jr., there isn't going to be a new season. So, I'm not sure if the show is returning or not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.163.54.161 (talk) 07:17, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
It' says they MAY not have another season, it doesn't say it is cancelled, so it should be under hiatus and not have an end date as of yet.--76.22.214.145 (talk) 23:39, 12 October 2009 (UTC)JD Samuel It said so on just jared jr., and on this site nat said if they have another season he has ideas on episodes. --76.22.214.145 (talk) 23:39, 12 October 2009 (UTC)JD Samuel

If the show is truly over, maybe Polly can make some occasional episodes like Dan did with Drake & Josh. Drake & Josh ended its run 9/16/2007 & "Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh!" aired over a year later.

This isn't supposed to be a general discussion about the show of any kind, the show is definitely over and have found a source stating that. Also, when you said that Nat said if their is another season that he has ideas for new episodes, you're referring to the article after the first season was filmed in the New York Times, and it was three days before the premiere of The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie. So the misunderstanding is now solved because I sourced it in the lead, thanx guys for your input though. Happy editing! ATC . Talk 02:05, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Does anyone know if & when the reruns are returning? Nickelodeon should reair the Christmas episode sometime this month. (70.172.232.7 (talk) 02:43, 7 December 2009 (UTC))

Nat & Alex were on BrainSurge. The host implied that they were still Nickelodeon stars. If the show was truly over for good, they wouldn't have been on there. It really is confusing whether the show is over or not. (70.172.232.7 (talk) 02:49, 7 December 2009 (UTC))

Season 4

Due to that logic until 2010 comes around OR nat or alex or anybody else related to the show proves that it isn't ever coming back, then we cant say it is over. --76.22.214.145 --JD Samuel (talk) 23:43, 12 October 2009 (UTC)JD Samuel 23:37, 12 October 2009

Why was no schools fool's day the finale?

it didn't tie up the Rosalina vs. Kristina thing or anything else. just another episode in my opinion. If nat and alex knew they weren't going to do another one why would they leave us hanging? JD Samuel (talk) 00:00, 14 October 2009 (UTC) Jd Samuel October 13 19:00

Maybe the series finale could have been the last 3 episodes (Naked Idol, The Premiere, & No School's Fool's Day) combined. That would make it 2½ hours (1:50 without commercials). (70.172.232.7 (talk) 02:49, 7 December 2009 (UTC))

Why have a followed by?

they have not announced another episode, season or, movie, so that shouldn't be there as of yet. October 14 17:57 2009 —Preceding unsigned comment added by JD Samuel (talkcontribs) 22:57, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
