GA class

[edit]

What needs to be done for this article to be promoted to GA status? Extremepro (talk) 22:08, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A peer review, first, is always good. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 00:21, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For it to be GA, I'd first suggest that the plot be cleaned up and made more coherent. I feel that it needs to flow a little more, and some parts are confusing (he adopts the other so they can pretend to be brothers?). See if there are production notes in the volumes (for shorter series, it's usually where they are found). A character section can be created, but I wouldn't advise it if there aren't many characters and they can all be easily explained within the plot summary. So, I'd start with that, though there probably is more work to be done. Also, it may be a good idea to eventually ask for a copy edit. You can request one here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests. But I'd also go through with a peer review. They are quite useful. Hopefully I can get my volumes out later this evening or tomorrow to work on the plot. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 00:43, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The AfterElton article goes into more depth on why they adopt each other and pretend to be brothers - it's a cultural workaround that some Japanese gay couples go for to get some of the rights of marriage in regards to property. The older adopts the younger, they become 'brothers'. I gather that it's easier for brothers to rent together than it is for two unrelated men. --Malkinann (talk) 06:57, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, that's also spelled out in the book itself (one of those cool points about it - they show the more realistic issues there). :) -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 07:05, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's neat:) Hm, I should pick this series up sometime. Though maybe those lines could be explained a bit more to avoid that confusion. An out-of-universe explanation, to help readers and future reviewers. WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 12:44, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ideally, it would be covered in LGBT rights in Japan, but it's not. --Malkinann (talk) 21:05, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As an update, I've gone back through both volumes: no production info/author notes at all. :( -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 23:59, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plot summary

[edit]

Okay, I've redone the summary, which was all volume 1. Can someone else go through and help cull it back down to a more sensible length? I did it once while writing, but obviously still too long. I'll add volume 2 later today. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 17:34, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Volume 2 also now added. Happy copyediting someone :) -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 19:42, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
