Genre
[edit]Regarding the first sentence in the lead section, I wanted to create a space to discuss how to write the genre. We have MOS:FILMLEAD to cite, and it says, "Genre classifications should comply with WP:WEIGHT and reflect what is specified by a majority of mainstream reliable sources." I think we can all agree that at its very core, that it is a horror film. Of course, since the film is not released, we do not have secondary sources reviewing the film independently and labeling it as such. At this time, we have this in which they write, "It's a perfect example of the tone the director wanted to strike, that mix of horror and comedy." So does that make this film a "horror-comedy film"? An editor tried to write "black comedy horror film", but "black" is not in the source at all. I am tentatively okay with just "horror-comedy film" unless others have good reasons not to use that.
It may be in the long run that secondary sources will call this film just a horror film, or something else, but we should remember that we don't have to fully explain all the elements in the first sentence. It could be introduced as horror in the first sentence and identified to have comedic elements in a later sentence. For now, nothing should be considered final until secondary sources review the film. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 14:26, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
