I will review this article. Snuggums (talk / edits) 18:41, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
- Lead
- There should be detail on when filming took place and what critics thought about the film
- "substantially darker" is a vague description; not everyone reading this is going to automatically know what "dark" refers to
- Plot
- This is overly long at 1006 words (not including cast members) when it should be between 400 and 700 words per WP:FILMPLOT
- Cast
- This section is entirely unsourced; please add citations for each role since WP:FILMCAST does not make sourcing exceptions for these sections
- Production
- Avoid really short paragraphs, sections, and subsections per MOS:PARAGRAPHS
- "The opening sequence of a vacationing family's young daughter being attacked by a group of Compsognathus was very similar to the novel's opening scene, and Dieter Stark's death is also analogous to John Hammond's compy-related death in the novel. Also, Nick, Sarah, Kelly, and Burke being trapped behind a waterfall by one of the T. rexes was ultimately taken from the novel, where Tim and Lex are trapped behind a man-made waterfall with the T. rex attempting to eat them, and Roland Tembo shoots the T. rex with tranquilizer in the same way that Robert Muldoon did in the novel" needs to be referenced
- Music
- This needs an expansion; when did Williams begin working on and complete the soundtrack? It would also help to include quotes from Williams and maybe critics.
- "The soundtrack was released on May 20, 1997" is unsourced
- Release
- I don't think the "Home media" section is needed
- Reception
-
- Box office
- "becoming the second highest grossing film of 1997 behind Titanic" is unreferenced
- Critical response
- This could probably have more reviews, 5 doesn't seem like very much.
- "The" is part of the title for The New York Times
- "Spielberg confessed that during production he became increasingly disenchanted with the film, admitting" would read better as "Spielberg admitted that during production he became increasingly disenchanted with the film, stating". Also, shouldn't this be in "production" section, and when did Spielberg say this?
- Awards and nominations
- Everything except for the "Stinkers Bad Movie Awards" nominations are missing citations
- "Sierra Awards" should be removed as a non-notable award per WP:INDISCRIMINATE
- References
- All citations should have authors, names of works, titles, and accessdates
- British Board of Film Classification, Box Office Mojo, "Philly.com", "Lost-World.com", "About.com", "RogerEbert.com" shouldn't be italicized
- Entertainment Weekly, Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune need italics
- FN's 4, 6, 7, 11 and 12 aren't working
- Are "Collider", "Comic Vine", or "Video Watchdog" reliable?
- "Jurassic Park Legacy" is a fansite and thus not reliable
- Overall
- Well-written?
- Prose quality: Mostly good
- Manual of Style compliance: Many issues
- Verifiable?
- Reference layout: Needs work
- Reliable sources: A few questionable sources and one unreliable source
- No original research: Lots of unsourced content, and dead links need to be repaired
- Broad in coverage?
- Major aspects: More reviews and music details are needed
- Focused: Plot needs to be reduced
- Neutral?: No bias detetced
- Stable?: Seems OK
- Illustrated, if possible, by images?:
- Appropriate licensing: The URL for File:Lostworldjurassicparkt-rex.jpg isn't working
- Relevance and captioning: I'm not sure if File:The Lost World Topps Issue 1 covers.png or File:Lostworldjurassicparkt-rex.jpg provide any benefit
- Pass or Fail?: Failing this without putting it on hold as there are too many problems right now. The sourcing and coverage have me especially worried. Better luck next time. Snuggums (talk / edits) 05:01, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
