Title

[edit]

Why is the word "shepherd" capitalized? I suggest to move this article to The Lord's my shepherd (hymn) or, if the first line is considered a title, to The Lord's My Shepherd. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 03:57, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Shepherd" is capitalised because it's in title case. In titles you don't normally capitalise words like pronouns, conjunctions or prepositions, so The Lord's my Shepherd would be correct. This is also in-line with MOS:TITLECAPS, so there's no need to change this. Cnbrb (talk) 11:30, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That's not my reading of MOS:TITLECAPS which stipulates that pronouns (and adjectives) are to be capitalized (so whether "my" is one or the other doesn't matter). Another related hymn that uses "My" in its title is "The King of Love My Shepherd Is". I suggest you initiate an uncontroversial request at WP:RM#TR. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:29, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, I guess you're right. "The Lord's My Shepherd" would be correct after all. It looks ridiculous to me, but I am probably used to other style guides which don't capitalise pronouns, so it would have to fit in the the Wikipedia Style Guide. Or style guide. It's orthographical correctness gone mad. Cnbrb (talk) 16:52, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A suggestion for greater estimation of the Source, the Bible Origin:

Please rename the article's title to The Lord's My Shepherd (Psalm 23)

Through this https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Category:Psalm_settings could become a more useful reference for many! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Palcohu (talkcontribs) 13:13, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
