Terrible article

[edit]

Wow, it's rather amazing how bad this article is. From a complete lack of sources, false information and inane trivia (the complete song lyrics???) to an overall lack of proper tone this thing needs a top to bottom rewrite RoyBatty42 18:26, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ran to a completely empty audience in a cinema in Birmingham UK

[edit]

The movie ran to a completely empty audience in a cinema (The Gaumont) in central Birmingham UK (the 2nd biggest city). Not one customer turned up to watch it. The screening continued after the start as staff thought that a customer might arrive late, but none did. The cinema itself closed not long afterwards. There might be confirmation online somewhere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.99.210.174 (talk) 15:24, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of "needs infobox" tag

[edit]

This article has had its infobox tag removed by a cleanup using AWB. Any concerns please leave me a message at my talk page. RWardy 17:39, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Budget and Revenue

[edit]

Can anyone find a source for the film's budget and box office returns? I remember it being massively over budget, one of the most expensive films that year (think it was priciest Western ever made at that point) and for years considered one of Hollywood's biggest flops. And Kudos to whomever cleaned this thing up, a 100-fold improvement over how it once appeared! RoyBatty42 (talk) 17:06, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plot???

[edit]

Perhaps someone who's seen this thing could at least grace the article with a bleedin' plot synopsis?

If that's not too much trouble, of course...

Why did critics pan it?

[edit]

I know Siskel and Ebert (then the hosts of PBS' "Sneak Previews") were among the critics who panned this movie. If I remember correctly, they particularly despised the violence, especially since one of the hallmarks of the Lone Ranger was his respect for human life. I've never seen this movie all the way through, so I don't know if that's true. Any thoughts?97.73.64.144 (talk) 21:43, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've only seen part of the movie, but I recall a scene where Tonto encouraged John Reid to use silver bullets simply because they were "more accurate". In the original legend, the Lone Ranger used silver bullets to remind him to use his gun sparingly and to respect human life.76.6.217.8 (talk) 18:54, 10 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"original" lone ranger as part of the cast

[edit]

john hart has been the 2nd lone ranger out of the original series. he was the one that replaced clayton moore for a few years when he wanted too much cash. shouldn't that be told somewhere in the article? it was also the last movie this guy made --78.43.41.107 (talk) 10:06, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
