Expansion
[edit]For expansion, this article needs discussion of scholars' opinions of RLS's work with respect to the Lamplighter and also the history. I have seen suggestions that the poem is autobiographical (http://www.rampantscotland.com/poetry/blpoems_lamplighter.htm) says "Stevenson was a sickly child (hence the reference to "when I am stronger) and looking out of the window to see the lamplighter would be a frequent occurrence for the lonely child.")
Copyright
[edit]The text was originally published in 1885 in Penny Whistles, thus, it is in the public domain. Thus, the CorenSearchBot is in error in flagging the poem as copyrighted. BrotherE (talk) 22:27, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
- I've removed it again though from this article, and moved to our sister projec Wikisource. That is the more appropriate location for the complete listing of a literary work. The work itself can then be discussed here in an encyclopediac manner. --rannṗáirtí anaiṫnid (coṁrá) 07:43, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
