Worthy of more attention

[edit]

My memory is that it anticipates a global network of computers, long before the modern internet. I could not find anyone who had written about it. My own memory is that the system is crashed by an on-line war between rival humans. Not a computer taking over, as the Goodreads review suggests.

The book is long out of print, but the End of Man edition is available from Amazon. I have ordered it. I remember a lot of interesting details, including a speculation that the universe tried to created computers directly, and that it would be right and proper for them now to replace humans. But I'll wait till I have the book and can add direct quotes about these matters.--GwydionM (talk) 11:16, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
