Okay, my edit warring friends. This needs to stop.
@Sjones23: You claim that "Madhouse is the sole studio behind the production"[1], and are engaging in an edit war to p[ush through your point of view. You claim that WP:ANIME and WP:FILM support your actions. Please point to where the applicable MOS or other guidelines support this.
@Wrath X: You claim that Kadokawa Shoten, Kadokawa Herald Pictures, Happinet, Memory-Tech, Q-TEC, G.T. Entertainment, and Kadokawa Anime Fund should all be included in the production company credits in the infobox.[2] Please provide sources which support this. As you are adding the information, and since Sjones23 seems intent on disputing that addition, it is up to you to provide sources supporting their inclusion.
Hi. Before the infobox film template was changed back in 2014, it was common practice to include only the animation studio in anime-related film articles back when it was just the "Studio" parameter, as with articles such as Studio Ghibli films and Summer Wars. However, when the infobox style guideline changed the parameter to "production company" via an extensive discussion back in 2014, some users have already felt it was necessary to include all of the production companies that financed these anime films to the infobox (such as this one), and my concern here is that the list of companies that are credited under 製作 is generally long, and that's why some other editors usually go with the studio that produced the film as listing all of the production companies can bloat up the infobox (which is why I had to reduce it to just Madhouse in this instance, as it is the animation production studio). For other animated films, including this one, a production committee is a special entity created by a group of different companies partnering for a specific film project to finance and manage the copyrights of said film and is very common in the Japanese film industry (this also extends to anime and this article, as Madhouse and Kadokawa Herald Pictures a member of the production committee).
Most anime film productions, even those based on prior source material, tend to use 'Cast' or 'Voice cast', but I've noticed this article uses "Characters', is there any reasoning behind this discrepancy?---Plifal (talk) 00:53, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
