Merge?

[edit]

What I would do is merge WONDERLAND into THE FRUIT MACHINE (not the other way around), although each has its own personality; plus I'm awaiting different graphics and input from production/cast.

POV

This is a review, not an encyclopedia article. It needs to be rewritten in NPOV. User:Zoe|(talk) 21:10, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bruce Payne Photo

[edit]

Is that Bruce Payne photo really necessary? trezjr 10:49, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What's the problem with having this photo posted? Payne's character Echo is an important element of the story. His picture is even on the VHS cover shown on the Fruit Machine page. Ariel23 23:51, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Ariel23[reply]

The photo serves no purpose here to promote your fan site. It is not encyclopedic and Echo is not a main character in the film.

Post what you want in the Bruce Payne article.

He is certainly IS an important character. The story revolves around what Echo is trying to do to the main characters, namely kill them. And if Echo is not important, then why is his photo on the VHS cover?

It's called marketing.

The character doesn't have a single word of dialogue in a 2-hour movie.

This is not fan site.

It is not relevant to the article.

The fact that he did not have a single word of dialogue and acted completely with his eyes and body made his role even scarier and more dramatic. To diminish the impact of the character by saying he didn't have any dialogue misses the point. The lack of dialogue is a dramatic device used to make him scarier, not a comment on the importance of the character.

Furthermore Echo has more onscreen time than Robbie Coltrane who is billed as an important character. Do you think Coltrane is unimportant?

Many other sites have fan links. Why is that a bad thing? They provide information to the readers who can ignore it or follow the links as they choose. When I look at various pages on Wiki I am happy to see such links. I have often found them interesting.

The fact remains this is an encyclopedic article about a particular film.

It contains links to articles of the cast members.

That is where a fan link belongs; it is duplication not associated with the film to place it here.

It is fancruft.

Brighton Dolphins

[edit]

Sue9 23:07, 3 December 2006 (UTC)I have been trying to find a copy of the Fruit Machine and came across this entry in my search. I was part of the audience at the Dolphin Show in the film. The interior shots of the show were all filmed at Flamingoland in North Yorkshire just before they closed the Dolphinarium. Sue9 23:07, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
