Merger proposal
[edit]It is proposed that the the article The Scorpion and the Frog be merged with the article here for the following reasons.
- This variant of an old fable is comparatively recent. Its origin has been attributed to both Aesop and to the Panchatantra without any verifiable evidence.
- The article is tendentious and strains the evidence to a point where it verges on Original Research.
- The article has acted in the past as a magnet for large amounts of trivia which have constantly had to be purged. The proposed merger would help quarantine it.
The article here has already incorporated material from The Scorpion and the Frog. Suggestions of what else might be retained would be welcome. Mzilikazi1939 (talk) 19:49, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
- No comment or suggestions were received in three full weeks. The section containing the proposed merge of material was further modified and the accompanying illustration transferred. The merge is now complete. Mzilikazi1939 (talk) 15:32, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
