Bale's character??
Is Bale playing in spirit but not in name the german John Rabe?? Interesting point of history, even though a member of the Nazi party, Rabe petitioned Hitler when he returned to the Third Reich to condemn the Japanese for what he had seen them do in Nanking. However Hitler told him to shut up (sic) and put the Gestapo on him.
It will be interesting to see if that is the case in this film, or it just removes that little, ahem, unsavoury fact a la Brad Pitt's "Seven Years in Tibet" that contained an Austrian Nazi but that was never mentioned in the film. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.52.211.17 (talk) 11:29, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
