Jim Gray compensation
[edit]This latest edit and explanation about Gray not being paid seems fair. For the record, I found the retraction that User:767683PHIL referred to here.—Bagumba (talk) 03:18, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
Comic Sans
[edit]It's 2015, and Gilbert using Comic Sans is still being mentioned.[1] Combined with all the Google hits, I think its use should be mentioned here.—Bagumba (talk) 03:01, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

– These articles fall under Wikipedia:Naming conventions (television), which does not (and has never) supported the use of (TV special)
as a disambiguation method. Largely a marketing term, a television special is a one-time, annual, or otherwise standalone event, which might be any of several types of programming: parades, pageants, celebrity profiles, tributes, award shows, animated shorts, musical performances, full-length films, failed TV pilots, and many more. In short, "TV special" is how it is marketed/aired, not what its format/type is. -- Netoholic @ 22:29, 7 December 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. - Comment: I'll have to look more closely at these when I have the time. It is worth nothing that previous RM's have established that "TV special" is fine to use as a disambiguator in certain cases (e.g. How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (TV special), as per Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (television)/Archive 13#Requested mass move of TV specials - 29 April 2018). Note also that Our World (TV program) already exists, so Our World (TV special) cannot possibly be moved as suggested... But I suspect that some (most?) of these should be moved, but maybe not all. I'll hope the have a look at this in a few days... --IJBall (contribs • talk) 03:58, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
- The difference is that, in this case, we're only addressing non-fiction shows such as musical performances. I've updated the request to handle the Our World issue, by further disambiguating both by year. -- Netoholic @ 12:27, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
- Support. "TV special" is not part of the guideline, and as such should not be used (if it should, it should be added. Can't have it both ways), while "TV program" covers anything broadcast on TV which doesn't have a more specific qualifier. I'm not sure what the title of the Elvis (NBC TV Special) program is, as that full article title is used in the lead and in the infobox as a normal name would. --Gonnym (talk) 16:23, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
- Striking Elvis (NBC TV Special) from the list. It appears that page is actually for an album, not a TV program. I'm going to put that in as a separate move. -- Netoholic @ 09:17, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
