Television adaptations

[edit]

Regarding adaptations: I distinctly remember seeing a television adaptation of "The Country of the Blind" when I was younger. This would have probably been in the 60's. I'm sorry I cannot remember any more about it, but perhaps someone can find more details and verify. Mathetes1949 (talk) 13:59, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've found this reference to a TV script entitled "Strange Valley" for the Favorite Story series. The script is dated 1954 but there are no broadcast dates given. I'm not sure if this is what you saw. --Bruce1eetalk 15:01, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Further disambiguation needed

[edit]

The Country of the Blind is also the title of a poem by CS Lewis, published in Punch (September 12, 1951) under the pseudonym Nat Whilk.DMSBel (talk) 12:22, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing this out, however no article exists for this poem, and "hatnotes" should not include links to non-existent articles (see Wikipedia:Hatnote#Non-existent articles). —Bruce1eetalk 13:31, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, can you tell me if distinguishing requires that an article already exists?
IE. Not to be confused with TEXT.

I don't see a problem with that ... I've added it. —Bruce1eetalk 07:30, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

H G Wells Country of the blind vis-à-vis Plato's Allegory of the Cave

[edit]

It would be interesting to see some comments as to how the two stories interrelate. Some interesting comments to the possible relationships between the 2 stories were made by Maureen O'Sullivan in her book "The Four Seasons of Greek Philosophy" — Preceding unsigned comment added by TonyRansley (talkcontribs) 10:19, 11 November 2013‎ UTC

Plot summary incorrect

[edit]

Why does the plot summary say Nunez gets "trapped in the mountains" and dies at the end of the story? I've read the ending several times and it simply says that he escapes by climbing out of the valley and rests on a ledge. You're right. I've checked here and his fate is not revealed as the article suggests. I've corrected the plot summary – please feel free to amend as you see fit. Thanks for your input. —Bruce1eetalk 09:32, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
