Notability
[edit]A quick Google search would indicate this band is indeed notable, but the article desperately needs more sources. I've asked the creator to bring forward any references possible to help out with that. Tony Fox (arf!) 21:02, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- With regards to the 'hangon' tag, here are some refs to the band:
- Article from Slash magazine (hosted on the band's site, but I spotted an eBay auction of the issue that listed them as being in it)
- Review of one of their CDs
- Another review of a compilation, where the band is described as "godfathers of L.A. punk"
- Their discography indicates that while their records weren't albums, they were out on notable labels - What? Records and Tooth & Nail Records for example
- In addition, the band's drummer Karla Maddog (one of the pioneers of women in punk, from Google searches and references to her in interviews) also spent time in Jimmy The Hoover.
- Finding online refs to a '70s punk band is challenging, but I think there's enough there to just squeak by on WP:MUSIC criteria #6, #5 (somewhat - remember, singles were pretty big back then), and possibly #7 as an establishing group in the L.A. punk scene. - I should note I asked the article creator to provide some sources as well - basically, this is an exercise in giving articles a chance to develop before any deletion processes take place, for me. Tony Fox (arf!) 00:30, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just do something to assert notability in the article, that's the criteria for speedy. If you can assert notability (in this case, find at least two or three reliable references that describe them as being an important part of "LA punk") then the speedy tag is invalid, and it can be removed. After that, it would go to AfD --Longing.... 10:42, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
