Added 'Controversy' Section

Being a fan of the show and watching it on Hulu, I can not help to notice the reaction from the public about its stereotyping of African Americans. A quick Google search will reveal significant outrage and debate about the shows content and its supposed proliferation of stereotypes to cater to a "white audience". Although I do not agree that the show is inherently racist, I believe that there is enough buzz out there about the show that the controversy must be addressed on this page. I implore you not to delete this section, but to add and refine it as you see fit. I have done my best to present the topic neutrally, yet in the interest of being encyclopedic, most of my references are from blogs.

Sorry, but it has been removed as we cannot use blogs as references. This is especially important when adding "Controversy" sections, which tend to become magnets for any dislike a person may have about a particular series. Your efforts are certainly appreciated, however, and if you can find reliable sources (community leaders, mainstream press, and so on) that present viewpoints critical of the series, that would be go along way towards making the material fit under Wikipedia's requirements. Fine, but I refer you to this article in the WSJ: [[1]]. I quote the article: "... as it matures, Wikipedia, one of the world's largest crowdsourcing initiatives, is becoming less freewheeling and more like the organizations it set out to replace. Increasingly, newcomers who try to edit are informed that they have unwittingly broken a rule -- and find their edits deleted, according to a study by researchers at Xerox Corp." Such rigid hierarchy and posturing is contributing towards Wikipedia's downfall. How about just a "Reception" section? I'm sure that there are some official news outlets out there that give a review of the show, and possibly mention the racism issues. But in leiu of news outlets, I think blogs would be acceptable. Most mainstream repoters aren't die-hard fans of Family Guy, or even animation in general. So, I'm all for citing well thought-out, intelligent blogs on this page. I do agree, however, that allowing the citation of blogs would open the floodgates for vandals. There is a guideline outlining what Wikipedia considers a reliable source. The "self-published" section covers blogs, which are largely considered unacceptable as sources, except for a few narrow exceptions. Leithp 11:36, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Timeline continuity problem

Timeline continuity prob: Quahog 1982 (Zapped), Stoolbend 1984

How can Cleveland be a young college student in Quahog when Peter makes that 'Zapped' reference to Lois in 1982, but then be a high school student in Stoolbend to laugh at that geek w/ the computer in 1984 ("Field Of Streams" 01/03/2010)??? Macshill (talk) 04:48, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Comedy Central

Does anyone have ANY PROOF that Comedy Central is gonna air The Cleveland Show on October 7th at 10? The "citation" is to the CC press release page. I have searched through their press releases, all the way back to October, and I can't find ONE talking about them acquiring TCS. Copied and Pasted

I believe these words from one of the opening paragraphs were copied and pasted from a Seth MacFarlane interview, but no credit was given: "Cleveland has had enough of Quahog – he realizes that he wants his own friends, his own sidekicks, his own stories. So he sets out to California to make it in a way that we'll have to keep a secret until the show starts, and then he ends up somewhere else, which we'll also keep a secret until the show starts. But he basically goes home – he goes to his hometown in Virginia and rekindles an old high school flame."

Songs used in the show

Whilst looking for the name of a song in an episode I came across, it occured to me that The Cleveland Show makes large use of popular musicians and pop music in comparison to similar shows, so maybe a list of songs with the relevant shows could be listed as well as the custom-made/modified ones? 82.32.11.95 (talk) 18:58, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

The Cleveland Show has been Cancelled

On Wednesday, April 17, 2013; the website A. V. Club reported that Fox had cancelled The Cleveland Show. Until a formal announcement of the show's cancellation is made, I do not see the point in speculating about its status. Even if it is cancelled, there could still be some unaired episodes that Fox will release over the course of the next TV season. Davejohnsan (talk) 17:05, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Let's refrain from nitpicking over trifles. WP:CRYSTAL has nothing to do with this. I read that entire section and it has to do with a failure to verify a future event or having a full page dedicated to some future unverified events. That Fox has not determined the future of this show has been fully sourced and verified. I haven't done anything to the current information in the article. I've only been reverting edits that have either 1) changed the end date in the infobox, since even if the series is canceled that field is to remain at "present" until the last episode has aired; and 2) made unverifiable or unreliable claims that the series has, in fact, been canceled. You are right that the dating edits and claims to cancellation information should NOT be in the article until there is confirmation. Both TV By The Numbers and TV Overmind are reporting the show as truly canceled. However, a few other websites seem to suggest that Fox hasn't announced a decision regarding the show. Might want to wait for something a little more concrete. Yoyoddd (talk) 10:57, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Does it look like the FOX website to you??? Seriously, this article was protected twice, and every time the attacks resume. You may read this IGN article, which states the following: "FOX never officially announced the show had ended (...) in theory, they could start Cleveland back up again at some point." I'm afraid Koala15 is right. Numerous individuals have now presented legitimate sources stating the show won't be returning next year and there's this argument of "Well, that doesn't necessarily mean the show will never return ever again." Regardless if there's ever a revival in the future which I doubt, the show is cancelled at this time and should be stated as such. To the fan base, I can appreciate your tenacity, but it's over! Not on schedule next Fall

I keep trying to write that Cleveland will not be on the schedule next Fall but some guy continuously reverts my edits without even looking at my sources. Yes I know TVBytheNumbers and Collider are speculative sites, but this is a copy of the official press release from FOX and the show is not on the schedule. I'm not debating on whether the show is cancelled, I'm just saying that it will not be on the schedule next Fall. As Hearfourmewesique has commented, there is no Fox statement yet. The only thing that is known for sure is that production has stopped and the lead time for animation makes it very unlikely that the show will proceed. THIS SHOW DOESN'T DESERVE IT'S OWN PAGE!

I mean, it isn't a good show, and it has been cancelled for years. Why not just merge it with Family Guy, and have a section of the Family Guy page talk about the show. After all, it was a Family Guy spin-off, and nobody really likes the show enough to care if it has it's own page or not.

I apologize (it's been a while so you may not even read this), but this is a major animated show that has not even been considered for deletion before. Yes it is cancelled (The Cleveland character is on "Family Guy" again), but unless someone cares to start this now, more than likely it's staying. Also, I would not consider this a "serious issue"
