Richie's Tube Challenge

[edit]

I feel there should a bit on here about when Richie did the Tube Challenge with Geoff Marshall. Tube Geek 77 (talk) 03:04, 29 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting proposal

[edit]

Thought it might be worthwhile discussing how we can best cover the two iterations of the show on Wikipedia. At the moment, it is presented in a manner which is incredibly confusing — the Absolute iteration is now reduced to a single sentence in the History section, yet past (ie. Absolute) team members are given their own section headings. The Past segments heading also contains a mixture of segments from the Absolute show and the Gold/Australian show.

I'd drafted a re-write of the article in a similar manner to how the Chris Moyles Show page is written — ie: separate sections for the Radio 1 and Radio X eras. However, given the only carry over between the Absolute/UK era and the Gold/Australian incarnation of the show is Christian himself, as well as the rebranding of the show (dropping "breakfast" from the title) in Australia, I am now of the view that it would be better to split the page in two, as follows:

  • The Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show, a former breakfast radio show heard on Absolute Radio (and previously Virgin Radio), and
  • The Christian O'Connell Show, an Australian radio show heard on Gold 104.3 and syndicated by the Australian Radio Network.

Therefore, I propose that the article contents relating to the Australian show are split into a separate page called The Christian O'Connell Show, and this page is moved back to The Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show. In addition to fixing the issues raised above, this would in my view best reflect the edit histories of the page prior to 2018. Heyitsstevo (talk) 01:06, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
