1st time watching/listening to the show

[edit]

My husband and I were COMPLETELY appalled!! The show was on @11pm on Wednesday night. Late enough where most working parents may be in bed to rest for the next work day. So, children of any age, still awake on summer break can watch this without parents even knowing. Is this what we call entertaining? Funny? Who cares about educational, I'm not expecting shows like this to be educational. But the language, the bleeping out of words that WE All KNOW what's supposed to be said. The "N" word so many times plus other language that isn't even on regular tv shows. And the racism, or if not racism, but the"acting" of the races is just ridiculous. I just cannot believe this is on a regular tv channel, not just cable, but one you can get through antenna. Just something that shouldn't be so real, with guns, language, gang & drug activity. Just 100% tasteless. And we are far from prudes. We are pretty into what's out there. This is just a sad, tasteless show to even air. Disappointed in channel 4 FOX network, which I watch on a regular basis. Sorry, but not sorry. Unhappywatcher3 (talk) 09:31, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal - Why is this a separate article from the first installment of Boondocks

[edit]

I am a little confused as to why this article The Boondocks (2022 TV series) is a separate article from The Boondocks (2005 TV series). It's the same show with all the same characters so ought to be apart of the same article no different from The People's Court, Divorce Court, Family Guy, Will & Grace. It's not a different show. It's just an unexpected revival of the same show after hiatus when thought to have ended. That doesn't make it an altogether new program. I feel this needs to be merged. I get what you are saying. EW, AWN, Complex, Deadline, comicbook, and IGN are calling it a reboot, so I think it should remain its own article unless there is something which indicates it is another season of the original Boondocks, which ended in 2014. That's at least my understanding of this show. --Historyday01 (talk) 19:40, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Where do we go from here?

[edit]

Do we wait for further confirmation before deleting the page? Because if it's not going to exist as a completed product there's not much sense keeping it around--CreecregofLife (talk) 01:14, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The page could remain like the page for the unproduced Buffy: The Animated Series, Deadpool TV series, The Governator, Mail Order Family, and Star Trek: Phase II. If we went that route, then the page would remain generally unchanged. On the other hand, we could also go the route of the former page for the unproduced Nimona film, cancelled by Disney last year. That page wasn't deleted but was rather rolled into a section entitled "Cancelled film." If we went the second route, then we could change this page to a redirect to The Boondocks (2005 TV series)#Cancelled reboot section and move any relevant information from this page to that section. That's just two options I can think of. --Historyday01 (talk) 21:40, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sound arguments for either, really.--CreecregofLife (talk) 00:34, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, yes, there really are sound arguments for either... --Historyday01 (talk) 13:48, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I’m here wondering if we have enough sources of far enough progress, but Nimona had very far progress but no elements and got converted into a section, so clearly being cut short and far won’t salvage it as an article. Star Trek Phase II has been mythologized with a legacy, and that’s what got it its article. 20 years of being discussed even before Wikipedia was a thing.--CreecregofLife (talk) 19:14, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, that's a good point. I think there are enough 18 sources to put into a section like "The Boondocks (2005 TV series)#Cancelled reboot" but I'm entirely sure it should be kept as its own page. That's my thoughts on it, thinking about it again today. --Historyday01 (talk) 21:55, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Like, all we have are the floating heads. We know they were recording, so there were scripts, but how many episodes into it were they? How much was actually complete?--CreecregofLife (talk) 00:28, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
