Many of the claims in this article are un-sourced appear dubious. For example, the Russian version of the article lists a dozen other editions, and refers to another popular Soviet cookbook. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.124.145.18 (talk) 16:43, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The claim that the book relies on unavailable ingredients doesn't actually match up with the content of the book, which is largely based on potatoes, cabbage, and root vegetables. Every large cookbook contains a few recipes with luxury ingredients, and The Book of Tasty and Healthy Food has no more of these than its share. I believe that this claim originates with the book's translator's notes, as it could not arise from actually reading the recipes.
