A boat race with a sinking? Game on! Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:50, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]- "The 69th Boat Race took place on 30 March and 1 April 1912" - I can't think of a better way of phrasing it, but this might give the impression the race was a two day event, as opposed to one that was abandoned and restarted.
- Thinking about this one .... The Rambling Man (talk) 14:18, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- I've had a go - see what you think. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:40, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Ok, I like it. I'll pass this as GA.... The Rambling Man (talk) 14:49, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hey, that's my line! Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:51, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Worth mentioning it was Oxford's fourth win in a row?
- Sure, done. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:18, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Background
[edit]- "as of 2015, broadcast worldwide" - any particular reason for using 2015 instead of 2014 (the date of the source). "As of 2014" implies all years following, doesn't it?
- This is true. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:18, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Crews
[edit]- Eton College could be wikilinked
- Already linked at Old Etonian. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:18, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- As we know Henry Bensley-Wells' full name, that should go in the crew list
Race
[edit]- Sidney Swann has already be mentioned in the prose for "Crews", so should simply be "Swann" here
- Ok, done. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:18, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- "Oxford won the toss" (2nd mention) - would it be worth adding "again" to this?
- "with the Dark Blues made the better start and took advantage" - this isn't grammatically correct
- Reworded. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:18, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Summary
[edit]- That's all - on hold. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:01, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Done all but your first point, drawing and firing mental blanks right now. Any suggestions? Thanks! The Rambling Man (talk) 14:18, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
