Significant because...
[edit]I am deleting the statement "the novel is significant because it focuses on patriarchal constructions of society" as a blatant POV plug. Sorry feminists - it might be true that the book is significant and it might be true that it focuses on patriarchal constructions of society (which I doubt; I've read the book and I don't remember anything of sorts), but there is no causative link whatsoever. A book can be significant without exploring topics important to feminists, or completely insignificant in spite of being wholly dedicated to those. The F-factor is not what determines a book's significance. Deal with it. Rulatir (talk) 04:34, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
