Pronunciation of the name

Gud will read as Гад (reptile in Russian) - "u" transcripts as [ʌ]. "Hood" and "Good" sounds nearly the same in Russian. Still, admit that HMS Hood did not become HMS Good in Russian. It's a matter of traditional pronunciation. --Yuriy Lapitskiy ~ 11:26, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
