Sudsakorn or "Sud Sakorn"?
[edit]Most websites seem to use the former, but I really have no idea which one is more accurate, or why the confusion arose in the first place. Are there any Thai-speakers around to help? To further confuse matters, the actual poster seems to say "Sudsakhorn Adventure". Esn 02:24, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Sudsakorn is actually the most accurate one this is because the Thai name "สุดสาคร" also sticks together in one phrase. Not to mention that the live-action film adaptation also uses the spelling "Sudsakorn" as well. [1] As for the poster, it appears to be an early translation at that time. DVD?
[edit]Can anyone who can read the Thai language please tell me what this is supposed to be? Is it a DVD of the film, or something else entirely such as a game or tv show? It also says "Thai-English" at the top of the image, so I wonder if that means anything as well... Esn 22:14, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- I found a slightly larger version of the artwork here It appears to be a VCD of an animated short, Sut Sakhon: Magical Child, and the drawing style is based on Payut's character, but it says the illustration is by Ohm Ratchawej with the story by Saksiri Meesomsueb. - Wisekwai 19:46, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Nope, it's a 16 pages comic book. --NaiPiak 09:58, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, NaiPaik. I wish this film would receive a definitive DVD release (with English subs). — WiseKwai 18:26, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- You know, my guess is that the film is being seen somehow, because people are apparently writing reviews about it (unless those people saw it way back when it was in theatres). The really seems to be a language issue, and if we had somebody here who spoke Thai they could probably clear up the situation really quickly. Maybe it has no DVD release, but is often shown on television, for example. At this point, I don't have much hope of an English-subtitled "definitive release" (lots of more accessible films don't get that far), but some kind of digital copy of the film would be nice. If that existed, it could be distributed over some site like cine-clasico and from there it wouldn't be a huge step to some enthusiast creating fansubs for it. Esn 09:47, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

To block the vandal
[edit]It may be advantageous to block this anonymous IP vandal. Despite his use of a different IP almost every time, it is obvious that it is the same person and that he has broken the three-revert rule many times over and is intent on adding vandalism. I've found this page for accomplishing just that (I propose banning the entire list of IP adresses which have been used, as well as adding any new ones to the list)... I hope it will help (my edit is here). Esn 09:26, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, they were removed ([1]) because a block would be ineffective against a range of IP adresses. By the way, if you click on the WHOIS over here, you see that this individual lives somewhere in Thailand. In any case, WP:RPP has been suggested for this page. Would this be a good idea, perhaps? - This is driving me crazy! If there's a way to stop this person from making this ridiculous, incorrect changes, I'm all for it. — WiseKwai 18:47, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I've put up a notice (see here). Apparently this is actually pretty simple to do, but I've never tried this before. We should've done it sooner. Esn 19:44, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Hurray! We've been semi-protected! I am not sure how it is even possible to reach out to this person, though, since s/he always comes under a different IP and perhaps doesn't even speak English (being from Thailand). Also, I'm not sure what reaching out would achieve; this is just silly vandalism, changing the dates. Esn 21:09, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'm not too keen on the big notice at the top of the page, but it's more efficient than having to deal with the annoying change in release dates on a daily basis. Thanks again, Esn. — WiseKwai 14:10, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Well, looks like it's time to ask for semi-protection again... Esn 18:38, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Denied. But now accepted. Esn 17:59, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks again, Esn. Also, thanks to others on the vandal patrol who've been reverting the disruptive edits on this article and at least a couple of other Thai films as well, on a nearly daily basis. — WiseKwai 06:15, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Interesting forum thread
[edit]While browsing Google, I came upon this forum thread. According to the user Sonni: The film was sponsored by a local studio which already shut down many years ago. The owners already died and the film's right pretty much got passed on to their son. The original film was donated to the National Film Archive in my country and they usually show it in various international film festivals around the world. So if he's right, there are no videos or DVDs but it is still sometimes shown... I think I'll try to ask this fellow a few questions about his sources; maybe some of this information can be put in the article... Esn (talk) 22:53, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi there this is Sonni, I already mentioned this at the forum but I'll just quote it here:
- "I found this information from my local webboard. I don't think you can use it as a reference though. And even in Thailand there's little information about this film available to the public and only people who works in the art and animation industry actually knows about it. I can't remember exactly when but The Adventure of Sudsakorn actually shown in Channel 7 once but that was long time ago when I was very young and it never appeared again since then. I'm sorry if I can't help much but this is as far as I know."
- If you need any translations please tell me. I would be glad to help you. I'll try to find more information about this film too. LittleSonni (talk) 08:48, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
