Career future
[edit]At the B & L Productions Autograph Show in Valley Forge, PA in May of 2005, she mentioned how she and her husband (Brian Baker, The Sprint Commercial guy) now live in Pennsylvania, where her husband is from. She is more concerned with raising their young child (can't remember if it's a boy or a girl) than making a full-time return to acting, at least at this time.
Quitting DS9
[edit]Can anyone provide sources that provide info on why she quit. My understanding is that SHE made the decision to quit, not the other way around. She was killed off perhaps as punishment, but she'd made the decision to quit at the end of the season. I do have a source for this in the DS9 Companion, p 586 - printed in 2000. --76.229.201.227 02:53, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- A non-reliable source interview with Alexander Siddig (AKA Siddig El Fadil) has him stating she quit because she wanted a pay raise, they refused and she quit. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/i.baillie/SiddigEvent.htm Other places online suggest she got offered a spot in Becker, which paid more. She asked for a raise, was denied and quit. --Lendorien --Lendorien 18:11, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- No, she definitely quit DS9 before getting the job on Becker. I heard it from Armin Shimmerman. When she quit DS9 (over a pay dispute), she was told she'd never work in Hollywood again, and she ended up getting the job on Becker just days later. I also heard (from somewhere else -- I don't remember where) that she was making less than the other cast members, hence her displeasure. 99.255.30.114 (talk) 23:17, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
- This is all original research, so it can't be taken into account here. 99.67.62.224 (talk) 19:51, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- The article says that her leaving the show “forced” the programme makers to kill off her character - how so? They could have written it that she left the station for all sorts of reasons, or as had happened to other characters in the past, she could just have disappeared, never to be mentioned again. It’s not like there actually was someone else playng the slug, who they felt obliged to keep in the show, or whose contract they felt obliged to honour. So “forced” just seems, well, forced to me… Jock123 (talk) 08:41, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- They wanted to keep the Dax but had to lose the Jadzia (the actress portraying her); and ST lore had established that thee host cannot survive after the slug (symbiont) is removed from the body. So the body had to die. (Of course, you are right, some sort of Star Trek-y ad hoc argument could have circumvented this; but I guess they were pissed with her anyway and her in-universe death was what is known in the business a "shafting".) 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:517B:E2B9:C6C4:DBB7 (talk) 14:56, 31 October 2022 (UTC)

Becker & Masters of Sex
[edit]There is no mention in the article about her time as a minor character on Masters of Sex, but that should be in television credits. She was in at least a couple of episodes, maybe more, playing a woman who had a revelation about having had sex many times with her brother, and having been discovered by their mother. I also wonder if there is any properly sourced info on why she left Becker, while it was still successfully running. I assume that after having left two successful shows in a row, she must have found it pretty hard to get anyone to hire her? — Preceding unsigned comment added by GungaDan (talk • contribs) 06:39, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
- Apparently she was dismissed with a "you'll never work in this town again" (the usual send-off you get if you piss off a powerful studio) but the Becker people, it would seem, did not get the memo in time. I agree though, it is odd that (at least superficially) the same happened on that show, and you are probably right, this time everybody did get the memo (because memo's were now emails!). 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:517B:E2B9:C6C4:DBB7 (talk) 15:02, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
Reversion of content cited to unicourt.com
[edit]I have reverted the addition of a citation to unicourt.com and the content that was based on it.
WP:BLPPRIMARY specifies, ""Do not use trial transcripts and other court records, or other public documents, to support assertions about a living person. Do not use public records that include personal details, such as date of birth, ..." The source of the now-removed citation includes the sentence "This case was last updated from Los Angeles County Superior Courts on 01/16/2023 at 13:29:02 (UTC)."
Terry Farrell is a living person, and the source is a court record. Therefore, use of this source for an assertion about Farrell is prohibited by WP:BLPPRIMARY. Eddie Blick (talk) 00:32, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
