Causes

[edit]

"The causes for children are even less well known and have a recurrence rate of less than 200% after treatment." What the heck does a 200% recurrence rate mean? Considering that a citation is needed anyway, I think that sentence should just be dropped.

Template?

I have been going through the list of orthopaedic conditions listed as stubs and suggesting this template for Orthopaedic Conditions (see Talk:Orthopedic surgery)

Trigger Finger

[edit]

Tenosynovitis is a more general condition than trigger finger. It can occur in many of the body's tendons. I have it in my forearm. So don't merge them.

Tenosynovitis is a more general condition than trigger finger. It is also the technical medical term. Perhaps trigger finger should come as a subsection inside tenosynovitis Neil Dodgson 13:21, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit plan

[edit]
To edit and build upon this page, I will be performing a literature search to fill out content and add pictures as necessary along with links, references and other media. I will be responding to peer feedback, and I will be referencing the Wikipedia manual of style throughout.

-Building off of a previous suggestion, I would like to reorganize the headings into an introduction, pathogenesis, diagnosis, clinical features, and treatment. -Expanding the introduction, I would also like to clarify "trigger finger" vs. other types of tenosynovitis -In pathogenesis I would reorganize and expand upon the existing "causes" subheading. More references will be needed here. -Expansion of the existing "diagnosis" subheading -New clinical features subheading describing the appearance of the condition -Expansion and clarification of existing "treatment" subheading.

Peer Review

[edit]

Looks very well done. Perhaps a citation in the first section, otherwise very thorough and well cited. Khrisfaiss (talk) 20:58, 15 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Faculty Review

[edit]

Well done. In the diagnsis section "diagnosis of tenosynovitis is typically made clinically after a thorough patient history." This seems a little vague and perhaps you could include what criteria is used to make this diagnosis. Jemataoma (talk) 23:06, 18 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Writing to your Audience

[edit]

The Pathogenesis section should be edited to speak to a generalist audience. As it stands, it is written to a physician. See this page on making this article more accessible. Mgiulietti (talk) 16:16, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
