WP:QUOTE

[edit]

Per WP:QUOTE: "quoting a brief excerpt from an original source can sometimes explain things better and less controversially than trying to explain them in one's own words"

This is exactly the case with famous letter Popov wrote to Badžović. It is extensively cited by many scholars and perfectly well explains things. Therefore I will restore quote format. Explanation used to remove quote format is here (Some tweaks to NPOV). There is nothing POV with carefully attributed quotation so I will restore quotation format.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 19:17, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is selected quotation. The rest from it implies also another ideas. Quotations are nonencyclopaedic, forum-like kind of explaination. Jingiby (talk) 19:22, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Incorrect. Quotations are extensively used in wikipedia and even encouraged in above quoted cases.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 19:29, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The above mentioned essay explains: "Long quotations crowd the actual article and remove attention from other information." Temko's words about philology do not have the same weight as his words about Macedonian identity of Macedonians that received significant attention by scholars. That is why I propose removing additionally added text from the quotation. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 19:41, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
