Why do people insist on "Teletha"?
[edit]Seriously, it's not even a real name, "Teressa", on the other hand, makes a whole lot more sense, since it's an actual and common European name for females (in Spain, at least), plus "Testarossa" is also european, and "Tessa" sounds more like an abbreviation of Teressa rather than Teletha.
I blame the vagaries of transliteration between unrelated languages. The l-r thing is notoriously difficult for Asians, and the s-th thing also shows up with Aeris from Final Fantasy VII. Naturally, some bonehead in charge of translating the series into English overlooked this while her brother, Melissa Mao, and others have perfectly natural names.--128.61.52.60 22:46, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Actually, Teletha seems to be a real name of Irish (I believe) descent; you don't have to look too hard to find people who've had the name before the show aired. There's also some hint to her family perhaps having Irish ancestry due to the location of her parents' graves, and there's also the naming scheme of the ship she designed.
'Teresa' is a tipical Italian name, and Teletha (or Teresa) Testarossa has Italo-American origins, like her surname says. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.50.188.168 (talk) 22:19, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Tessa is an abbrevation of Teresa or Testarossa?
[edit]In "her real name" section I read that Tessa is also the abbreviation of Teresa (since Teletha came out from a mistake of the official translators and her real name should have been Teresa - or Teressa as some people say), but imho it could be also the abbreviation of Testarossa. What do you think about? 87.16.180.89 17:51, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- While "Teletha" is almost certainly a case of Engrish, it remains the official romanization of her name. 71.203.209.0 (talk) 19:48, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
About the External Links on the Wikipedia Page
[edit]I Don't know if this is the right way of saying it, but the external links on the page, that should link to her profile on the Full metal Panic official site, are either fake or not valid anymore, because that side has been taken down and now there is only a parking page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.41.231.89 (talk) 12:39, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Teletha Testarossa 1.jpg
[edit]Image:Teletha Testarossa 1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

What about her Bear?
[edit]This article doesn't state Tessa's attachment to her stuffed Bonta-kun, which she keeps with her every time she sleeps. Her fondness for the stuffed bear has been brought up several times in the anime, and was actually the key point of the OAV, in which she misplaced it after Melissa got her drunk, and she spent the whole episode retracing her steps to find where she lost her faithful companion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.2.253.226 (talk) 04:44, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
