Illegal occupation by Turkish Army?
[edit]What does it mean by this? Can someone clarify or this might be an absurd opinion added by someone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.142.137.240 (talk) 15:53, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- Cyprus was invaded by Turkey in 1974. Part if the island is, indeed, under Turkish occupation. It has declared independence, but only Turkey recognises it. There are several UN resolutions declaring the occupation illegal. More info, with citations can be foound on th respective pages of wikipedia. Fork me (talk) 17:11, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
- While the occupation may well be illegal, we should be neutral in how we describe it in articles that aren't specifically about that occupation. I've replaced all references in this article with "Turkish-occupied Northern Cyprus", which makes the same point in more neutral terms. — OwenBlacker (Talk) 22:17, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
Internet Censorship
[edit]While it is mainly uncensored, the Republic of Cyprus does now block major gambling websites, including online casinos and the websites of bookmakers. (Many forms of gambling are illegal in Cyprus). Unfortunately the only citation I've found (on the government's own website) is in Greek. Is it still OK to use this and edit? http://www.nba.com.cy/Eas/eas.nsf/All/6F7F17A7790A55C8C2257B130055C86F?OpenDocument Fork me (talk) 17:15, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
