Reference in Father Ted

In the Father Ted episode Night of the Nearly Dead, Father Ted with a book of Tekwar in his hand, answered Dougal's question of what he was reading and he responded that he was rereading the said book. There was a laughter track when he said that he was rereading it. Just like to know what exactly is the joke of him rereading the book. --The Shadow Treasurer 05:47, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I can see why you've missed the joke. Ted was re-reading Tekwar. Johnny "ThunderPeel2001" Walker 20:08, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Should be combined with Tekwar.

Kids gotta learn about TekWar sooner or later.

I agree, this is an important article.

This is nowhere enough information..it's half video game and half actual TekWar..and on top of that it doesnt make much sense..

Can someone please clean this article up a bit?

Sure...someone with lots of time in their hands will eventually do.
It seems cleaner now, but there's no real information about anything here... :( Shouldn't the books at least have synopsis information? Johnny "ThunderPeel2001" Walker 20:10, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Split

This article needs to have book, TV and comic book articles independent of the main article. StevePrutz (talk) 02:40, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

I agree. Go for it and I'll lend a hand with the comic. (Emperor (talk) 19:13, 19 October 2008 (UTC))
OK one question: should it be Tek_War or TekWar (camelcase)? StevePrutz (talk) 13:18, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
I'd go with CamelCase. We can set up redirects from the other versions. If there is a problem and someone comes up with a solid argument against it then they can always be moved but I keep running across TekWar and TekWorld so I'd go with that. (Emperor (talk) 14:14, 21 October 2008 (UTC))
The hard part is pretty much done. I need to give a little TLC to the sub-articles, like linking back to the main tekwar article. StevePrutz (talk) 15:06, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Excellent. I'll go through and see what I can do. (Emperor (talk) 15:43, 21 October 2008 (UTC))

Does anyone else think the whole TekWar Universe needs a navbox?

Tek Jansen

Am just wondering if anyone knows about the link between Shatner's TekWars and Stephne Colbert's Tek Jansen character. From what I understand there is an ongoing lawsuit between Shatner and Colbert over the use of the word "tek". Any info would be helpful. Infobox

This is a media franchise and there is an infobox to help with such articles {{Infobox Media franchises}}. It might be that with the splitting (above) that editors want to focus on the novel series so I won't ad it but the option is there. (Emperor (talk) 14:13, 21 October 2008 (UTC))

POV?

The page reads as thought it had been written by Ron Goulart or perhaps Ron Goulart's mom. Uucp (talk) 19:42, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

The rumors of ghostwriting

There were rumors that TekWar was ghost written for Shatner by Ron Goulart. Did these rumors ever appear in WP:RS?

TekWar was referenced in Simpsons 2F19 as a school-banned book. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.116.101 (talk) 03:12, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on TekWar. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Audiobooks

It should be noted that Shatner also read the first two novels as audiobooks, released at the time on three audio cassettes (3 hours) each by Simon & Schuster Audio. 2003:EF:1706:1E15:E12A:6E3D:7F5F:7114 (talk) 00:41, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
