Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) --Tm74 (talk) 12:03, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

the artist has collaborated with British Royalty and created a potentially historic artwork in the form of the first Royal graffiti. The artist has been described by GQ magazine as "The Artist to Watch" and has been commissioned by a number of high profile people known globally.

I believe the artist's work is significant to be included on wikipedia and I would ask that the links included in the proposed page be viewed to determine the independence and validity of the claims.

Please advise what amendments need to be made to allow a page about the artist, thank you.

@Tm74: I have removed the speedy tag as there does seem to be a claim of importance; while notability is not inherited(i.e. working with notable people doesn't necessarily make one notable themselves) the article content suggests to me that there is at least a chance of meeting notability guidelines here. Please review the guidelines, and indicate how they are met by this person in the article, and address the points I have tagged. 331dot (talk) 12:10, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Tm74: Your username suggests that you might be this person; are you? 331dot (talk) 12:12, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, this is my first time on Wikipedia, so please forgive my ignorance, it is not an easy site to understand. However, to answer your question, I believe the artist is notable for the fact he created the first ever royal graffiti with members of the British Royal family and this was documented independently in 3 International publications, of which two are referenced as online links. These include GQ magazine, People magazine in the US and Tatler magazine (print only, Dec 2016). I also believe the artist is notable for having work sold at Bonhams and for his association with Ed Sheeran and Eric Clapton, again a reference has now been placed on the page showing EricClapton.com featured an article about the Teddy M artwork.

Your final question asks if I am the artist, the answer is no but, I am a friend of his... does this matter? if so, please could you advise how I go about seeking a third party to write an approved article please? Thank you. --Tm74 (talk) 12:36, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Tm74: I would then suggest that you should change your username; when I initially saw it, I thought that you were this person (Teddy m, who was born in 1974) and unless you are you shouldn't use it as your username per policy. You don't need to create a new account, you can change your username at this form. If you are his friend, it could be seen as a conflict of interest and I would also suggest that you review that policy before further edits.
I think the page still needs some polishing but is getting better. 331dot (talk) 12:36, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your advice, I will amend the user name info. Would you be able to offer any advice as to how best to polish the page and include an image or two please? I am finding wikipedia to be rather confusing, sorry. --Tm74 (talk) 12:39, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please can somebody remove the COI using the references already applied to the page? I believe nothing stated in the page content can be deemed to have a conflict of interest because most is back up by references from respectable sources. Please confirm, thank you.--ArtWriter1 (talk) 16:14, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've followed your link to request a user name change, thank you. I look forward to receiving further advice on polishing my page, thank you --Tm74 (talk) 12:46, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am having trouble finding out how to access and edit my user name? could you advise please? Thank you --Tm74 (talk) 12:40, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see in the log that your username was changed, it should be set now. I don't know a great deal about uploading images, but WP:IMAGE seems to be a starting point on how to do it. As to the page, it is looking better; I think some more sources about this person in particular would help a great deal, as well as addressing the tags that remain. 331dot (talk) 13:25, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The raising of a concern over a conflict of interest can hopefully be erased by the fact most of the content of the page is verified by external references by internationally recognised publications or news outlets. Nothing that has been stated is false and I believe the content is fair and accurate. Please could you confirm and also explain what needs to be done to 'clean up' the page? Thank you --ArtWriter1 (talk) 14:28, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ArtWriter1: As you are the one with an apparent COI, you can't be the one to remove the COI tag from the page. It needs to be reviewed by others. 331dot (talk) 15:58, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Some New Changes

[edit]

We wish to refer you to the reference no. 13 and request an edit to include facts contained within this reference related to the public figures the artist has achieved as clients of his work and to include a link to the Wiki pages of these persons including Lapo Elkann, Flavio Manzoni, Kenton Cool and to acknowledge Tommy Hilfiger has praised the artist's work. We do not consider this promotion, rather a case of an achievement by the artist in acquiring praise and custom from these public figures. Thank you for your consideration. Hello ArtWriter1: I cannot approve your request to reinstate your edit because your edit copied text, word-for-word, from the article it cites to the Wikipedia article. Wikipedia requires text to be paraphrased before it can be incorporated into our articles. You should also justify why the praise for Teddy M is significant and how adding it to the article improves Wikipedia readers' understanding of the topic.
