Mid-series Crisis?

[edit]
  • ABOUT MIDWAY THROUGH "MTM" TEDD BAXTER adutions as a host of a New York City Game Show. Could Ted Knight have been tired of playing Ted Baxter {typecast?}. Ironically the series showed Baxter could actually by a compent TV personality-when he was not a newscaster-when he tried out as a game show host; when he was a talk show host; when he did comericals as "Farmer Ted". (unsigned, undated comment)
I added some details - Knight did consider leaving, mainly because up to that point Ted Baxter had been made to look like an COMPLETE idiot. They toned it down a bit in seasons after that. NickBurns (talk) 16:31, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editorialize much?

"He gives new meaning to the term incompetence." 12.44.117.10 20:21, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I almost deleted that, but then I read on. The entire article may have been written by one person, with no sources cited at all. I don't know what sources exactly one would cite for 'Ted Baxter,' but maybe episode titles for certain points, such as his fear of going on vacation? And I disagree that Mary got along with him better than any other staffers (I'd say it was Murray), but I can't back up my assertion any better than the writer. I'm stymied as to what to do here. I think we should have Ted's speech about his begining. "It All Started in a 5000-Watt Radio Station in Fresno, California..." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Arthritix (talkcontribs) 23:25, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should NPOV extend to the trivia section?

Bill O'Reilly is labled an infotainer while Olbermann isn't when they do pretty much the same schtick, albeit from different angles? --12.28.101.34 16:18, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

bears a resemblance is better phrasing in the absence of evidence of intentional homage - enough people have verifiably remarked on the resemblance, anyway. Schissel | Sound the Note! 01:38, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
