[edit]Anyone know how to the reopening the file after a recompilation at the same location as it was just before for a acrobat reader? Thanks.
- This should be discussed in more details, since, as the article suggests, the TeXnic is centric about Acrobat Automation. --Javalenok 00:24, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
I found the following additional DDE message very useful to suppress display of the bookmarks menu when your pdf contains them: [DocSetViewMode("%bm.pdf","PDUseNone")]. When others confirm this it could be added to the main page.

Acrobat integration
[edit]I just edited this article adding instructions on how to integrate Acrobat Reader with TeXnicCenter. Soon after I realized somebody has deleted some previous similar text, stating that Wikipedia is not an instruction manual. However, the German version of this article does include instructions - in special, a not so straightforward workaround to a problem with Acrobat v8.0. I strongly believe this information probably is of interest to anyone setting up TeXnicCenter (as it was for me), even if the bug is eventually fixed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ftrebien (talk • contribs) 2007-06-10 23:02 (UTC).
- Just because the German version of Wikipedia does it, doesn't mean that we have to. I'm not familiar with the German Wikipedia—it may be that they have different policies on including how-tos and so on, or it may be that nobody has decided to enforce that policy on the German article. If it's not straightforward to integrate Acrobat with TeXnicCentre, it may be worth noting that fact, stating a workaround exists, and citing that workaround as a source. Then that workaround is easily available for readers of the article, but the article itself doesn't incude it. However, as I stated when originally removing the text, Wikipedia is not an instruction manual.
- I won't revert your edits immediately—I'll wait for your comments first, in the hope of avoiding an edit-war. However, I do believe that the content you have added does not belong in Wikipedia, and may be better at, say, b:LaTeX.
- I have edited the page to reflect the changes you proposed.
- I'm still new to Wikipedia policies. It's ok with me if you think it's best to simply cite the issue and provide a reference to the workaround, or maybe relocate it to Wikibooks, as long as the information is reachable to the reader.

"...The same instructions apply to Adobe Acrobat Reader/Professional 8.0.0, but the DDE calls have to be modified as proposed in [2] because of a bug in this version of Acrobat." The link [2] seems to be dead and I cannot find the original information anywhere, just many references to this now-dead link. Could anyone who has that information please copy it or provide a working link? 22:42, 16 April 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.1.48.173 (talk)
