Im taking out the part of 40 Operators from Delta Force/Green Berets. There is no connection between SF and Delta (sorry to all you SF out there). And two, there are no SF (Green Beret) units on staff in ANY of the JSOC led Task Forces (not 121, 20, 356, 6-26, 145, etc). So Im taking out the part about the Green Berets. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.101.176.248 (talk) 16:31, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article reminds me alot like the text found on http://students.engr.scu.edu/~jabraham/specwar/specops/us/tf121/page1.html, is that a coincidence or did they copy wiki or did the author of the wiki article copy from the site?--84.217.145.49 00:37, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clean Up Time

[edit]

Not happy with this one. It is all a jumble with all kinds of little errors that military people with snort at, and then it misses the real story, which is that Task Force 121 is JSOC intelligence and operations arm that got into controversy in Iraq. I think there are two sections to the article that needs to emerge: first, the who's who in the zoo, and then the story of the recent controversy, where 121 were reported to have used "fear up harsh" tactics that did not stop the insurgency (or, if you listen to the 121 guys, the problem is their hands were tied by higher ups. It's a serious issue with implications for how we fight forward in Aghanistan and while it can't be explored deeply here, it should be succinctly referenced. 68.174.133.176 (talk) 02:53, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Timoleon[reply]

Notable personnel

[edit]

[This section miselads as it does not actually name any members of TF 121]

Key people involved in TF 121 and its successors have included:

  • Maj. Gen. Stanley McChrystal
  • Col. Stuart A. Herrington
  • Maj. Gen. Barbara Fast
  • Brig Gen. Richard P. Formica
  • Lt. Gen. Ricardo S. Sanchez
  • Gen. Bryan D. Brown
  • Maj. Gen. Michael E. Ennis
  • Brig. Gen. Gregory L. Trebon
  • Maj. Dennis S. Berry Jr.
  • Lt. Richard A. Van Patten

"Achievements"

[edit]

Isn't this section superfluous? There seem to be no verified info on any "Achievements", i.e. real achievements for this "Taskforce". What is mentioned is a major failure and not a success for the "Taskforce". As far as all too many saw it, the finding and elimination of the Hussein boys, Uday and Qusay, was more a straight forward botch-up job in the style of Waco. Both the "HVT"s were eliminated with headshots/double taps, meaning the operators got close enough to actually eliminate them up close and personal. To list this in an "Achievements" section is correct but points more to their incompetency rather than their competency. It is sad to see such a cock-up be seen as a propaganda victory when it looked more like a convenient elimination of sources of information. That it is mentioned as the more or less only case of their "Achievements" is even more tragic as these are highly trained professionals in their countries' service. The need for secrecy may be paramount in the "war on terror" but this seems to have been something utterly different... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Torbjorn.Niemand (talkcontribs) 08:36, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Assassinations

[edit]

Why is there no mention of the 2009 New Yorker article linking this group to illegal assassinations? Even if this is disputed, shouldn't it be at least mentioned? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.69.158.250 (talk) 16:51, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

its not disputed. thats literally all they do. assassinate HVTs. legally. enemy combatants can be killed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.213.246.201 (talk) 17:53, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Task Force 121 Structure

[edit]

On occasions, operators from Coalition nations (particularly British and Australian SAS, Norwegian Marinejegerkommandoen, Canadian JTF2 and Polish GROM operators) augment the TF121 and provide direct and indirect operational assistance.
On Occasions? Task Force Black (Tier 1 operators SAS/SBS) was a integral part of 121 from inception policing up incredible amounts of intel and practising find/formulate/fix (x3F) on many occasions starting with Operation Paradoxical and killing or capturing 3,500 insurgents in under three years.Twobells (talk) 12:10, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Huricane Troop 1-1 Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division

[edit]

Is "huricane" properly spelled here since I cannot find any references to it on the internet to cross reference?66.74.176.59 (talk) 02:03, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
