Orphaned references in Tarja Turunen discography

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Tarja Turunen discography's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "nw bio":

  • From Nightwish: "Nightwish Official Biography". Nightwish.com. Archived from the original on July 2, 2013. Retrieved June 5, 2010.
  • From Nightwish discography: "The band- Biography: The history of Nightwish". Nightwish.com. Archived from the original on 2013-07-02. Retrieved 2010-06-05.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. Feel free to remove this comment after fixing the refs. AnomieBOT 07:01, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Updated

[edit]

So, i've made a lot of changes to the article, with a few more to come. I've cleared unnecessary info, updated facts, fixed dead or unreliable references, and so on. I think the changes have made it much more easy to navegate, read and check the info. Any help is welcome. Thanks Rodrigo71 (talk) 18:17, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Rod. Minhanh44 (talk) 12:08, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Date format

[edit]

Since the artist is European, should the article be standardised with the "Day, Month, Year" date format? I noticed the "Studio albums" section uses the United States date format (Month, Day, Year). Is this an issue, or should it be left as is? 66.215.184.32 (talk) 01:00, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agreed with that. HirowoWiki (talk | contribs) 01:17, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
 Done for now. HirowoWiki (talk | contribs) 01:40, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Updates

[edit]

An user going by the name 42 117.151.169 recently changed the article back to how It was before I worked on it, for no reason apparently. I've reverted it back. Like I said, I added a lot of infos and yes, made a lot of changes, but for the best I suppose, and I've like to, once more, ask for help and contributions so the article can be as aligned as possible with the standards, but just erasing everything back to an outdated, messy and incomplete version seems pointless. Greetings. Rodrigo71 (talk) 12:00, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but your edit lately lacks all the singles and albums and alot in the stable version. Also you changed so many things as you want. Some video albums, nightwish albums you don't have to delete them. Also the stable version is the same and all the reader accepted that so you dont need to change to your own way may be you are artist fan. So pls let go, and back to the stable version and you can put some links and update i in the future if artists release new materials. Dont change the whole site. thanks. i updated the new song artist Tarja released also. the admins will fix your spelling also. thanks indeed.Minhanh44 (talk) 12:33, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, you are mistaken here in many cases. Nightwish discography can be checked on their page, this is Tarja's page. All the changes came with references, cleared unnecessary Space and added much more info about Charts. Rodrigo71 (talk) 18:42, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I will base on your new datas and change the stable version. But you lack some information and also you add too much details about albums. Some information is not true like Noche Scadinava is not DVD it is Cd. So i will check and mergre your version to stable version. To respect your effort and contribute. Thanks.Minhanh44 (talk) 18:51, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the Noche tip, and fixing whatever else mistakes you've found Rodrigo71 (talk) 18:54, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are artist fan but you dont know anything about her. Her releases and some more. Some infos you put here are not necessary and some are not correct. I will merge some good infos you add to the stable version soon. But you changed many things. Thanks. Minhanh44 (talk) 18:59, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
its not like I dont know "anything", I dont know "everything" (please, watch your grammar for a better comunication. So yeah, I writes mistakes like everyone, please Feel free to spot them and correct them with a reliable ref Rodrigo71 (talk) 19:03, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. I see what you want to help. Minhanh44 (talk) 20:26, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Plus, your reversion has been reverted itself, been caused a "possible vandalism" by the admin, so think It through a little. Also, you're a new account, POSSIBLY the same person from another newly created profile that was called out for the same reason, which can bem easily verified. Even If its nor the case, you've reverting the page to an outdated, full of dead or misleading references, and with a lot of unnecessary space, dont know why you're so keen on it. A lot of admins have been correcting mistakes since my First changes, which I asked for here, and noone took issues with it. Do not reverse the page back, please, Until further input. Rodrigo71 (talk) 18:49, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I will base on your new datas and change the stable version. But you lack some information and also you add too much details about albums. Some information is not true like Noche Scadinava is not DVD it is Cd. So i will check and mergre your version to stable version. To respect your effort and contribute. It contains all the released Albums, with ten charts each, a standards number, in alphabetical order, all with references. Even for live and video Albums It had been accomodated to its correspondent Chart. Before, we had fake information about Charts, certifications and so on. So I suggest you dont revert back to that mess, finde mistakes and add info with references, as we've ALL supposed to do Rodrigo71 (talk) 19:00, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I will add all your true info to the stable version as you want. Minhanh44 (talk) 19:02, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
About details. I will check every single charts and fix it. No worries Minhanh44 (talk) 19:06, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
you really think all those Empty charts for box set, compilations and Outlanders are necessary? Isnt It better to Just list the Charts for Living the Dream, as I researched, and add that Outlanders box with info I created? This is an example of unnecessary Space. Rodrigo71 (talk) 19:19, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No. All the other artist discography they use that type of space. It is standards Minhanh44 (talk) 19:27, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You also dont put 10 charts space for the EP, cause its pointless. Mention the ones where the album charted, makes more sense. In the EP section you reduced It to two charts, when The Brightest Void charted much more. See It? Rodrigo71 (talk) 19:42, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can add the LP Charts later, or you can by researching like I did. Rodrigo71 (talk) 19:44, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ok you LP Charts you can change the datas only. Dont add infos. Add numbers only. Thanks. Minhanh44 (talk) 19:46, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see what do you want. You xan skip all the space. No problem. I think it is help to read clearly. Minhanh44 (talk) 19:47, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll add the Charts later on, then. Rodrigo71 (talk) 19:59, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I basicly updated all the charts and datas to all EPs and LPs. So if charts changed or comes uo and down, you can adjust the latest version from now. Thanks for your contributes. Minhanh44 (talk) 20:25, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Allright, can we Just agree on the Nightwish discography? The basic and a link to its page its on the intro, theres no need to make it that much longer. How about a shorter version, as a list? Straight to the point Rodrigo71 (talk) 21:37, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think we have to put back the nightwish albums back because as you see details you will see that alot of nightwish albums that Tarja did with the band are not included in the NW discography page. And also Tarja NW era is another thing, not Nightwish. So i think even though it may look a longer page, we have to put it all there for her for her work in the band. You may see it is different from nightwish discography. Thanks. Minhanh44 (talk) 02:21, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Allright, reaching a commom ground here (since nome of us owns the page and has decision Power), i'll leave the infobox and the studio albums in the Nightwish section, the studio Albums being the most important ones, the rest can be checked on Nightwish page. I'll be updating Nightwish discography soon too. I have no more remarks for the moment Rodrigo71 (talk) 10:31, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, there are some facts and specially refs to check on the box for Nightwish albums, which imma do soon. Rodrigo71 (talk) 10:33, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I already invite you to start working on Nightwish discography. Rodrigo71 (talk) 10:43, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I also visit to check NW page sometimes. Minhanh44 (talk) 12:01, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
About Sales and charts, specifically. Rodrigo71 (talk) 10:44, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are wrong here. The nightwish section in Tarja discography is belonged to her and it is not Nightwish discography. You can see the different some cd and dvd are not included in NW DISCOGRAPHY. So Nightwish is not related here even you can view most of Tarja works with them on that NW discography. So i think we have to list all the works she put in NW era. It is not about Nightwish. You understand.Minhanh44 (talk) 11:59, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, so we need to check the charts and refs Rodrigo71 (talk) 12:12, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Onde charted in the Heatseekers charts in the US and in the Rock Chart in UK, added the info and the ref. Also fixed the ref for Dutch charts, and cleared info with no reliable sources. Still have to check the Sales and certifications info. Rodrigo71 (talk) 13:28, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
do you think that live at Gates of Metal is necessary? Theres are dozens of concerts being commercialized, like Minneapolis and Bucharest in 2004, or Lowlands in 2005; do you think we should add everyone single instead on only the Official releases? Rodrigo71 (talk) 16:59, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We should add only the ones listed on the band's webpage [1] otherwise you should look for all the other commercialized bootlegs Rodrigo71 (talk) 17:03, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Examples: [2] and [3]. Theres are dozens of this, lets Just focus on the officially listed by the band Rodrigo71 (talk) 17:11, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We focus only the official ones. Thanks Minhanh44 (talk) 18:04, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just let that one go Man, its clearly a commercialized bootleg like the others I mentioned, listed nowhere on the bands Official pages, im actually curious on How you came across that specific one. Rodrigo71 (talk) 17:31, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok can remove it. Thanks. Starfacts is official one so i replace it. Minhanh44 (talk) 18:02, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Official and non album and promotional singles only Minhanh44 (talk) 18:03, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm with Rodrigo71 on this one. HorrorLover555 (talk) 18:54, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
He's only adding random stuff, kinda loosing my patience already. Rodrigo71 (talk) 18:56, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I know right? And on top of that, the material being added is poorly sourced material like Discogs (which is not reliable per WP:NOTRSMUSIC). The Starfact video is a bootleg, same with Noche Escandinava II which falls under WP:UNRELEASED. HorrorLover555 (talk) 19:04, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Even with Tarja's material, he's put stuff like "Henkäys ikuisuudesta: Christmas Concert live at Sibelius Hall" and "My Winter Storm : Warm Up Concert at the Sami Hyypiä Areena in Kuusankoski, Finland", that are mere bootlegs from different sources, with poor refs, and stuff like "5 track promo" and others that are only extra material from already stablished or re-released albums. Again, we should only list things available on the artists official page, not random online material. I'll ask for your help on this one to keep things straight, cause like i said, it seems logic is pointless Rodrigo71 (talk) 19:37, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the Nightwish discography, I think its redundant and unnecessary to have both an infobox for the band and a whole section dedicated to It. It'd vote to only have the infobox for Nightwish, no extra sections. What's your intake on it? Rodrigo71 (talk) 20:25, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's a good idea. This article focuses primarily on Tarja's discography, so I don't see the point in having a section of Nightwish included in a discography article on a solo artist. HorrorLover555 (talk) 20:28, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Considering there are short infos about Nightwish in the intro, with numbers of albums and stuff, and a link to Nightwish discography, that Should be enough. Rodrigo71 (talk) 21:08, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, we can keep the infobox for Tarja's involvement in Nightwish at the top of the article. HorrorLover555 (talk) 21:20, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done Rodrigo71 (talk) 21:31, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, what's the relevance to that? Why are you so keen on adding random minor titles that charted nowhere and made no difference? Again, its nowhere on the bands Official releases? How did you find It? Are you just googling random stuff? Add only material Listed on the band's page (which is the norm by the way), on Nightwish.com. I'm talking serious to you now, I'm being very complacent and it seems you're only being childish, cut the nonsense or we'll have to take serious measures. Rodrigo71 (talk) 18:55, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is Tarja NW career era. Not NW đícography as i told you. Minhanh44 (talk) 19:32, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is about officiall materials, like i already told you, officially released and endorsed by the band, present on their website, different from this random compilations and bootlegs put out by god knows who most of the times without the band's knowledge and with poor art and musical quality. Check Nightwish's and Tarja's websites to consult their official releases:
https://www.nightwish.com/music
https://tarjaturunen.com/language/en/albums/
There you go, now you've been warned so stop wasting our time already. Rodrigo71 (talk) 19:45, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I dont see any relation here. Minhanh44 (talk) 19:47, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, you do. We were very clear. As the page is now, don't more of your random stuff, not gonna repeat myself. There are charts, links and refs that need to be checked, focus on that. Rodrigo71 (talk) 19:59, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Page version

[edit]

This page current version has been updated and developed by users and admins, do not make unnecessary changes, dont add info without a proper ref, do not add unnoficial material, like bootlegs, and do not erase content without a good reason. Check the topics above. Rodrigo71 (talk) 02:32, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Rodrigo71: As on Nightwish discography, per discography conventions: the band's home country comes first for chart columns; certifications are attributed to the initialism fo the certifying body and not the country; if there are no certifications we leave a blank cell. And most importantly, singles have not needed to be released physically since the 2000s decade in most countries in order to chart, so I do not understand why you introduced a colspan for digital releases. Download- and stream-only singles are eligible to chart on all these charts, and have been from 2011 to the present. I understand the colspans for albums that were released only as part of a larger box set or in a very limited quantity in one country, but not for the singles. Ss112 05:07, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, thanks for all the tips. I'll keep them in mind as I'm always learning and seeking advice about stablished guidelines. Rodrigo71 (talk) 16:32, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Per MOS:BADDATE, you should fix this again from revisions 1245951439 and 1245951919 and should be fixed with disambiguation links in orange like this: EPExtended play. Best regards! --HirowoWiki (talk | contribs) 22:57, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@HirowoWiki: I've restored the dmy date format, as Turunen is Finnish. Ss112 05:01, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
