Quote: Introduction in the Third Book of Poetry of the Slovene West

[edit]

That's a nice quote but I don't think it is appropriate for the article and propose its removal. The WP:QUOTE guideline says the following:

  • "editors should try to work quotations into the body of the article, rather than in a stand alone quote section."
  • "quotations should always be presented with an introduction; as a stand alone quotation is not a proper paragraph."
  • "long quotations crowd the actual article and remove attention from other information."

A contributor should use quotations when:

a) "using a unique phrase or term from someone’s speech or writing."

b) "dealing with a potentially controversial statement."

A contributor should try to avoid quotations when a summary of a quote would be better. This may be due to lack of importance, lengthy articles, etc.

OK, you're right. I'll create a wikiquote entry for Kermauner and copy it there. I realized that was the policy, but I was just too lazy to do it before, hoping someone else would fix it after me ;) Until then you can either delete it or leave it, as you feel. I've removed it. You may always find it in the history if needed. --Eleassar my talk 16:16, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
