The Tape Wrangler seems to be a reasonably good tape dispenser but there are many others on the market too. We would not want Wikipedia to be a product listing for tape dispensers (and other products). Wikipedia should not be listing commercial products. The purpose of this article seems to be promotional which is against WK policy. Further, I might question whether the subject is noteworthy. Pkgx (talk) 18:52, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For a product to have a Wikipedia article is not considered advertising. If the article has a promotional tone, then that is a different story. I currently do not see this article as having a promotional tone though. Is there something not-neutral about the content that I can fix, otherwise I'm inclined to remove the tag. As far as notability, the topic seems to meet the general notability guideline by having multiple independent sources (although there's no harm in opening up a deletion discussion to verify this). Yes there are WK articles on major products: Ford Fusion, I-Pod, etc. This brand of tape dispenser is not a major product and perhaps is not a noteworthy subject for an article. I would never expect this to move beyond the Stub status.
I am willing to go with Consensus here but it is hard to form a consensus of two. Could you please post this question to an appropriate page so we can get some additional views. Thank you. Pkgx (talk) 16:03, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have deleted the stub msg and a category. Given the topic and that some would rather the article was deleted there is no need to write any more about it and it should not be added to the office equip category. 203.109.161.2 (talk) 00:42, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
203.109.161.2, do note the template at the talk of this talk page - the article was kept after being submitted for deletion. So consensus was to keep. Due to how short this article is, it is a stub. With the stub tag - maybe an editor will either expand, or merge the article with another article. By keeping the category office equipment, - and do take a look at the items in the category which are the same topic "tape" as this article - an editor might round up these short stub articles into another article - which would be my preference. Stub tags are useful maintenance tools - however if the article has grown, is more comprehensive, then by all means remove stub tags. Thank you for coming to the talk page - what do you think?
