Tapas PalTapas Paul – He is an MP (Member of Parliament), and here is his profile in Indian Government website. Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 02:07, 29 May 2012 (UTC) Tito Dutta 03:11, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

But hasn't he been credited in films as "Pal" and not "Paul"? Won't that be his Common name then? §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 19:24, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Don't know, since his name is written in Bengali in title cards of his Bengali films. Some Newspaper articles support spelling "Paul" --Tito Dutta 21:20, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
AK, do you have evidence that he was credited as Pal in films? Secret of success (talk) 07:21, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No! I am not sure. IMDB uses it as "Pal" but also mentions alternative name as "Paul". Calcuttaweb also profiles him as "Pal". Hence i had this doubt whether he is credited as "Pal" in films. Abodh's actual credits spell him as "Paul" in English and "पाल" in Hindi. (They mismatch. That's weird. Hindi should have be "पॉल" or English should have be "Pal".) Rajashri Productions' official page also spells it as "Paul".
Now i have another doubt. Is the Bengali word "পাল" pronounced as English word "Paul" while speaking in Bengali? (It would be pronounced as [Paːl] while speaking in Hindi.) §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 07:53, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: Now i have another doubt. Is the Bengali word "পাল" pronounced as English word "Paul" while speaking in Bengali?
Reply: Yes, पाल/পাল can be spelled as "Paul". It is an accepted spelling. Just an alternative spelling (hope you know some people spell "Krishna" and some people (mostly Maharashtrians) use alternative spelling "Krushna" too. So, we should correct the spelling from "Krishna Sahukar" to 'Krushna Sahukar" if we find Mr. Sahukar himself uses the second spelling. It is similar. --Tito Dutta 21:04, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
