Kanji – martial art?
[edit]Is tanju (短銃:たんじゅう, tanjū, "pistol", "revolver") the correct kanji in this case? Is it correct to call it a martial art? It would appear akin to calling Tantō a martial art. I did find online references to tanju or tanju-no-maki as an element of Danzan Ryu. --Leo Laursen TALK⋰CONTRIBS 11:41, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- An educated guess might be that whoever originally added this article did not adequately think through what he was writing. Likely, it should properly be called tanju-jutsu, or tanju-dori, or something like that, and in this person's dojo they just call it "tanju" for short (the way kendo practitioners refer to their stances, like calling "gedan-gamae" simply "gedan"). That said, without anything that links here or any sources, this article perhaps should be AfD. Bradford44 18:02, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
